Wolfee
Meet Lexi! My brother's new blue staffie puppy ^_^ It's safe to say that Freya loves her new sister... She won't leave her alone, though Lexi doesn't seem as interested in her as she is in Holly haha! Holly being the brood she is, babies Lexi but usually isn't interested in Freya or Lexi's little antics ;') Poor girl, her life was so peaceful before we brought the two youngsters into the family </3 Problem is with the cat... Anyone got any advice for making sure the puppy doesn't accidentally kill the kitten? :') They play together, but sometimes Lexi grabs his tail a little too roughly, and Felix (9 week old cat), claws/hisses at him and runs under the sofa or something... But then he comes back towards her and pounces and paws at her... He's such a tease.
Emma
Awwww, so cute! Congratulations on your new addition! [emoji1] Have moved this into other pets and breeds section for you, she really is a beautiful little girl. Staffys are generally more eager to please than huskies and should learn to follow a leave it command quite swiftly. my Brooke learnt pretty swiftly not to hassle the cat although that is because she got swiped and those claws hurt! Also Cats can generally jump out of the way if they want to but keeping a eye on them is the way to go, just incase they get cornered and things escalate. Martian
What a sweetie! We haven't had many puppies. We got our Labradoodle, (Cassie), as a puppy and our latest addition, (Skye - rescue Husky), came to us at the grand age of 3 months, (she was already on her third owner)!!!! We have also had cats for as long as we have had dogs and we have never had any problems whatsoever but we do exercise a little more caution with our Husky's for obvious reasons. Cassie, Luna, (4 yr female rescue Husky), and Lysa, (4 yr female rescue Sprollie), have absolutely no interest in our cat, (Tigger), but young Skye takes great delight to play with Tigger at every opportunity but Tigger can give as good as he gets and will let Skye know when she is getting too rough! We will never leave Tigger and the Husky's alone together regardless of the fact that there is no indication of Tigger stirring their prey drive. We had a similar concern when we had two Greyhounds as they, too, have strong prey drives and many Greyhound rescue centres are reluctant to rehome Greyhounds into homes with cats. I will have to try and find the pictures of our cats sleeping on top of the Greyhounds!!
NOBELHOWLUC49
Awwwww new doggy in the home.... Keep an eye on them when there together and if Lexi is getting a bit to much with Felix then say, leave or away.... Bella stalks the cat, ever where the cat goes Bella is not far behind... We always know which bedroom Ben is in because Bella is sitting outside it. Noah the Husky for the most part leaves Ben alone but we think this might be the cause of his eye prob last Sunday... Ben gives as good as he gets and Noah this week has not been going near Ben... at all emmm... So be careful with those claws Felix and Lexi....
