Nice pic and yes I did click on it to make it bigger...

Ah, a stout hearted man :P

I'm just glad it was outside and I was inside while it posed for the portraits

It is easy to do that the beast is a few hunderd miles away from me LOLOL

409 Miles to be reasonably accurate.

Yeah you can have a stiff backbone  and stiff upper lip from that distance

I can see it waving at me out the corner of my eye

Odd...what type of spider is it??? On second thought, who cares just send it to the north pole!

No idea nice markings though :)

I found one of them on my rucksack when I was out walking today. There seemed to be a lot of them about today.

and did you casually brush it off or squeal and kick your rucksack around until it fell off??

I blew it off.

I think it is probably an araneus diadematus (European Garden Spider) http://wiki.britishspiders.org.uk/images/f/f8/Ara_dia_pic.jpg

Yes it is and to steal a phrase. . . .

"I'm gonna need a bigger garden"

Now that spider knows how to catch a fly or two :D

He has a friend on a nearby window that has had a couple of moths.

His mates not as big but IS getting fat :)
