Mazz
How long it lasts really depends on the dogs involved. Some, not an issue. Others, never ending. Best way to introduce them is to do it away from the home. Take them for a walk, let them get to know one another. Then when you bring them home together, let them get reacquainted outside first, before taking them into the house. It helps sort of ease the tension. It's not full proof, but then nothing is in life.

Snowdogs
They are fine out walking and fine most of the time but if someone comes into the house it's as if the big one is jealous she will attack the pup she isn't biting her but the pups yelping is disturbing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mazz
Well that is a bit odd. Is it just at first when someone visits or is it for the duration of the visit? May be you will need to make a firm stand with the older one, letting her know that her aggression is not acceptable. Now, how do you do that in a positive way? Diversions sometimes work. Draw her attention to something else. It could be a toy, or something that she likes, such as a blanket. You may have to experiment a bit to see what works and if it works. Otherwise, you may have to ask your guests to please ignore the dogs. May not be easy for them, but if she is bothering the younger one, it may be she is seeking attention. Then you will need separate if need be.
Wy Renegade
You can also try putting yourself in a position to give the older dog attention while the guests are giving attention to the puppy, so that she also receives attention. Then ask your guests to come over and give her a little attention as well, once they are done with the puppy.
