You also have to provide info proving you have insurance then you can get your Road Fund License or car Tax It is a paper disk that you must display in the windscreen of the vehicle. Over here both your insurance and MOT tests are on a national database, you cannot get your tax disk unless you have both. Also we have police vans that scan your number plate, this cross checks the vehicle against the tax, insurance and MOT databases If any one is missing then they will impound your car on the spot and you pay a hefty fine, plus daily impound fees.
