Chris83
dont want to be coming across as argumentative but at a guess 70% of husky owners buy there first husky as a puppy surely the rules are counter productive to the growth of the forum and responsible owners? for instance the pups and owners mentioned are very aware that top priority is a great home and no one who isnt known personally is not going to be giving a pup a new home for life. Sarah
We've had people on here buy dogs for a small fee say £50 and then that person has gone and straight away sold the dog on for £200- £300 This is why we don't allow it
Val (Zebedee)
Chris, you may be right in your assumptions but for every one genuine case, we have experienced a hundred not and given the number of huskies in welfare, we do not want to go down that route. This rule was not thought up willy-nilly (I love that word! lol) it is because of problems in the past & we are sticking with the rule. If the homes asking are known personally, then there should be no need for any requests to come via a forum.
Chris83
thats fully understandable but those who are looking to provide a home in this instance are very well known respected individuals. And the person looking for homes is close personal friend. so the circumstances surrounding this discussion is focussed on the very thing your rules intend to promote... making sure that there is no selling of pups for profit without care or reason. Chris83
so should there be no talk of pups or puppys or people providing homes for puppies?
Wizadora
Thems the rules, feel free to contact people outside of the forum. x and you can talk about puppys but no promoting sales of them.

However we cannot have one rule for one and one for another. Thats the reason the rules are there in the first place. We make a clear point of following our rules to the letter so that we are not involved in any decisions personally. Otherwise it just leads to favouritism. And our rules intend to promote sharing experiences with other members about owning a husky, not the buying and selling of them. Sorry Chris. Chris83
ok in that case i shall use other means to keep in contact with friends. Which will inherantly reduce the use of the forum which is a shame. just to clarify for future purposes will i be able to openly discuss the organising of a charity event? NEEKO
i am currently new to the site but im glad i found it, as a genuine husky lover AND owner of a beautiful husky i genuially had no intention of causing any friction on this site

Chris you are now being pedantic and Im assuming you have mentioned that due it also being in the rules that they are not allowed ... The last that was posted came 2 clicks from having the forum shut down for good. Look .... Every forum has its rules, and people have to abide by them rules whilst posting on them. You will not like every rule as indeed I dont on some other forums. However if they are the rules, then they are the rules. We have these rules for extremely good reason. What you are asking is that we allow some people to do things that others are not allowed to. Your asking our staff to make judgements on individuals, and asking our staff to put work into researching every single member who ever posts up the selling of puppies. We are the largest husky forum on the net, we simply do not have the time to do this and it would be unfair for us to judge people. Therefore we do not judge and lay down the rule that puppies are not to be sold on the forum. We are not saying you cannot speak to your friends, just not sell on here. Marc
i had no idea of what happened in the past. is the support of orgainsed registered charities permitted? No sorry chris. We dont allow any fundraising events on husky owners other than the site fundraising for site events. This is something we actually did that we didnt really want to, however it was a case of the forum nearly being deleted completely from the server and never coming back online again that forced this issue, along with tears from Sarah, a member being threatened, police being involved, our forum being slated all over the net and called puppy farmers (hence another reason for the non-selling rule) and more... Was basically the rule in, or the forum out.
