Husky Ticking (freckles), common?

Recommended Posts

I don't know about ticking/freckles, can't say I have heard of them.....but I do know that both of my dogs have had a strange small patch of white on their shoulder that never matched or seemed to coincide with any other markings. My most recent has big black ones on her belly, that have been covered up more as her belly hair lengthened. If I was to randomly see a pic of your dog, I would say to myself, "it must have some piebald in him". but I am no expert by far. I would love to learn more about ticking and see other dogs with such features. Either way your boy has a very very handsome mask...and I love the little black freckle in the middle that is topped off with a big white strip that travels all the way back.....he holds his markings with character and beauty

Thank you "Kara" and "Jan and Diesel". I do find Mav pretty as well. He is piebald. I just find it funny that he looks like a half-assed coonhound with the ticking.

:doglaugh:as long as he's not acting like a half-assed coonhound :)

I haven't ever seen the ticking in any of the lines I'm familiar with, but have several dogs (and have seen others) with the freckles on the face - my Shad had several right between his eyes and lower - as do several of his grandkids.

Maverick is very handsome!
