raindog
Our yard, where the dogs spend most of their time playing, is concrete. As a result, we have never needed booties when running our dogs as their pads are naturally toughened up. By all means have some as an emergency measure, but if you use them as a matter of course they might have the opposite effect to that desired and end up softening the feet rather than protecting them. wjmartins
Use to wear booties in the old house, to protect the wooden floors from scratching. Problematic if they have dewclaws, these can get irritated.
Sid_Wolf
keep a pair in your bag so you can use them if need be, but dont use them as standard procedure
