NewSibeMom
Well, of course, I was lovingly gazing at Mr. Blaze, as I do a million and one times a day, and I've always thought his blaze (one of the reasons I named him Blaze) down his stop was quite beautiful, but today, the beauty of it really captured my attention, so I was curious if anyone else has a dog with unique facial markings like this? Also, in his white blaze, is a little tuft of copper, it's the coolest thing (then again, I'm biased) His facial markings remind me of a rose stem with thorns or something, because his vertical stripe isn't rounded off, it has edges that splay out, which I find interesting If others would like to post pictures too, can we kinda down size them so they don't take half the page up, because for us folks with dial up, that takes FOREVER to load (thanks in advance!) Trod out the huskies! This one was from today, when the little terror settled down for a pic

NewSibeMom
Thanks Emma I'm hoping Blaze keeps his blaze for life, but if not, I have PLENTY of pictures so I remember how cool it was I love your sig pic of Cookie, I was just playing on Picnic.com myself, doing some shots of Blaze with a similar effect
Elyse
Blaze is so adorable! I'd like to think Suka's facial markings are unique... Yep - those facial markings are kind of like Blaze's....but more round. Maybe they were more like Blaze's when he was a puppy? There's also a little pink mark right by his nose on top of his muzzle. You can see it a little there. I don't know if it's a result of an accident, but it's been there since we got him and it doesn't seem to bother him. A birth mark, perhaps? After not seeing Suka in a month, and after looking at these pictures...I realize that he's truly a BEAUTIFUL dog! I guess I got used to him as the time went by. Emma&Cookie
Thanks She doesn't really have any facial markings, the only things that really stand out are her 'eyebrows' lol She's a bit like a chameleon in that she is forever getting darker then lighter again, so they are not always visible Lol ★ Emma & Cookie ★
NewSibeMom
@SolitaryHowl You adopted Suka, right? Too bad we don't have puppy pics of him, he's gorgeous now, I'd like to see what his markings looked like when he was Blazie's age... You really miss Suka, being in college, don't ya? I couldn't imagine being without a dog. I know this might sound 'lame' but when I would go away for extended periods of time, my mom and Naya (my German Shepherd at the time) used to Skype. I would have mom sit by Naya and we'd talk, and it was so good seeing Naya's face, and her seeing mine. Maybe it would bring you comfort too? NewSibeMom
@Emma&Cookie Hahaha, I love Cookie's eyebrows! One thing's for sure, you'll always feel like you have a captive audience, she has that 'Well THAT was interesting' expression with those eyebrows of hers

He is quite an annoying old fool, so I'm not going to correct him. Stops him from bugging me and telling me to cut my grass lol ★ Emma & Cookie ★
NewSibeMom
Hahahah! 'Leave me alone or my demonic husky will come in the night and rob your grizzled body of it's soul...' Sorry, watching 13 Ghosts, it kinda inspires some sick ramblings outta me

I think I have his original owner's records, as his name and phone number were left on one of his puppy vaccination record sheets, but I don't want to call up and be all like "I WANT PUPPY PICTURES!", because that would kind of be weird. LOL Yeah - I miss him so much. But I'm going home tomorrow for 3 days! Haha - I tried to do that a few times already. But he just cocks his head a few times at the screen (when I call his name), then he goes over to his mat. It's like he doesn't CARE, or he doesn't understand that its me? I don't think they can see 2D pictures like computer screens or TVs...
jules dief taz tor
tori did have a really weird little stripe down her forhead, she is just commiing up 2 1/2 and itss begining to fade :0(
sutsibe
This is Shad - he was my best bud until he left for the Rainbow Bridge in late July... Always loved the pitchfork of white up into his "cap" of black, and the freckles in between his eyes... Elyse, the pink on the muzzle isn't uncommon - it's just the pigment/lack thereof in that particular area...
NewSibeMom
@sutsibe Shad's markings are awesome! Did his 'stripe' change much as he matured? LOVING the pictures! Lets keep 'em comin!

The white pitchfork didn't change much. The black freckles were more distinct and there were more of them when he was younger. Here's a pic of him with his mother, Ari, when he was 3 or 4 (she would have been around 10 at the time)...
Ravenwolf
Haha, I think they all have pretty unique markings - I don't think I've seen two huskies who are quite the same! What stands out with Wyatt though is that he has a white stripe running right down his bar.
NewSibeMom
@sutsibe So beautiful, the both of them! Your Shad was really substantial next to his mom, eh? Could be camera angle too, but man, your boy just looks massive next to his dam! Just beautiful masks, especially on Shad, though his dam has some awesome markings around the underside of her eyes as well
NewSibeMom
@Ravenwolf oh wow! Wyatt REALLY has a unique mask, doesn't he?! That's pretty cool, and I so agree, I've never seen two huskies with exactly the same markings! Wyatt's looks like an arrow shooting up toward his ears, that is so interesting, you can see what appears to be the end of an arrow!

I'm a big fan of the shading just under the eyes - going with the arrow metaphor I guess it would be his 'fletching!' That and eyeshadow all across the bottom. There are a few dogs I've seen on here who have deadly markings like that!

Tanya-Meika&Keeva
And this is my Meika. Her stripe was a lightning bolt as a puppy. It was so cool. As she got older it straightened and i still love it.
NewSibeMom
@Tanya-Meika&Keeva I LOVE Keeva's markings! They remind me of @Ravenwolf 's handsome pup! Meika is also beautiful, but Keeva is just stunning!!!

Staceybob
Aleu is from the same litter as Blaze, this is how her coat has changed: Here she is sleeping with her brothers and sisters, can you guess which one is her Isn't obvious or anything. Then she got more distinctive markings: She kept the little badger eyes and the dark stripe on her back: Then she started to loose the badger eyes and started to shape a M on her nose, And she got a lot lighter!: Then she started to get really ginger and really dark in some places: Bit Darker, but kept the M: Then the stripe on her back started to spread out and she got a bit lighter: Then the M started to fade, but is still there: And now this is her: Lol, that's some changes over the years! And she's only 3!! Who knows what she'll look like in a few years. Stacey xxx

sutsibe
Thanks - Shad was quite a bit larger than his mom, Ari, was. She was around 21 or 21.5 inches at the shoulder, and he was right at 23.5 inches. He was somewhat narrower in build, though, due to more racing lines behind him...
