Saffmonster
I can't afford to buy MS Office and I only have power point viewer on my pc. So, I've been looking at free downloadable programmes and wanted to know what you think may be the best one or if you could recommend one to me. I've come across OpenOffice.org and google docs so far.
BlueWolf
OpenOffice is a very good one (or LibreOffice if you don't like Oracle. IMO LibreOffice has a brighter future). Google Docs is also quite good but I think is not useful for heavy stuff. However, you can always get to your documents no matter where you are, without having to install anything. There is also AbiWord but I have no experience with that one though. I know of a few more but are not for windows.

Saffmonster
I have some powerpoint presentations already, will I be able to edit them using openoffice?
Andy
I have some powerpoint presentations already, will I be able to edit them using openoffice? Yep Open office can open and edit ALL microsoft filetypes. Just be careful when SAVING in open office because it automatically saves as an Open office file NOT in the filetype you opened. you have to tell it to save it as a Microsoft filetype. Mazz
I use OpenOffice at home, MS Office at work. I work on files, edit, whatever, in either package with no issues.

Saffmonster
I've downloaded it. It's almost identical to MS powerpoint There a few differencies which I'm working my way around, but it's great so far!
Elyse
That's great! Yeah, there are some differences between the two, but you'll get used to OpenOffice quickly.
