Everytime there was a bird, my cat looked at the ceiling as well I once made a VERY high-pitch sound with my synthesiser, I could barely hear it but my cats sure did! They went all crazy. Meowing, licking random things and playing with each other. I was so confused as I didn't here the sound myself. So sometimes they just hear sounds we can't, or here them different I guess. sutsibe Posted December 11, 2010 Report Share Posted December 11, 2010 I would guess that it probably bounced around the room, and reflected off the ceiling - their ears are much better for telling direction than ours, and with it bouncing off a large surface like a ceiling, I can see how it might appear to come from there - not much to absorb the sound!
