It did sound like Silver may have torn a cruciate ligament from the symptoms you described. However as you've explained the vet has performed the drawer test and an X-ray and these proved negative. Hopefully the glucosamine will help strengthen Silvers ligaments so that he will be back to full strength soon so we can get our fix of your pictures of the stunning Silver

Thanks Ron. He does seem to be a very photogenic dog. Maybe it's because he's so vain...lol.

Dignified :)

The video with the billy Bastards song (excellent by the way, would you have more info on them?) and him standing on the dock...was amazing. That was just the perfect moment.

I'm hoping to take Brenin out to Lake Louise By Banff this winter...but next summer we are going to Pacfic Rim Natioal Park on Vancouver Island for holiday....can't wait.

When I drove back across Canada when I go Brenin, we swam in Lake Superior, about 2 hours before thunder bay.

Well, he swam and got drench by a wave...i..miscalculated how big they were and he was none to happy at first. I froze...it was begining of may.

I started In NB then all the way to AB....I've always loved 'northern' ontario, other parts of Ontario depending...born in Burlington, Brenin was born in Ontario as well

It is funny I figure drive from newfoundland to ontario/manitoba border then close your eyes to banf them keep them open untill you can't go further on the island

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. I really love Banff and wish I could get out there more often.

Burlington is a beautiful city. I have a few friends there and try to make it down South for the annual rib-fest.

The city I live in (Sault Ste. Marie) is actually on Lake Superior. The water is usually cold all year round..lol. We're a border town with a U.S. city of the same name. I've enclosed a pic of the bridge that connects us to Michigan.

The video of Silver standing on the dock was taken at my camp. It's only a 15 minute drive from town, and about a 45 minute walk through the bush each way from where I park my car. I can get there by boat in about 5 minutes, but Silver obviously wouldn't enjoy it as much...lol.

The Billy Bastards are a local band that my cousin sings and plays guitar for. I had to use thier song because the more popular songs were getting my video blocked due to copyright infringement. I believe you can order shirts and CD's from them if you visit their myspace page. They should also have songs on there that you can listen to for free. The web address is posted at the end of my video.

Thanks for the comments Ron...

So it's been a minute since I've updated this. Silver has been doing well, but has issues with his luxating patella (trick knee), so I keep our outings down to 2 hours at a time. I've been doing a lot of hill climbing with him to strengthen the muscles in his hind legs; hopefully it will help. It never appears to bother him, but I'm always on the side of caution these days. On a lighter note, he can still outrun all of the dogs at the dog park...lol.

Just wanted to share a couple of pics I took this April during my last snow shoe adventure. Yes, there was still a ton of snow in the bush and the lakes were still frozen.

The pic of Silver in the water was taken in front of a beaver's house where they broke through the ice this spring. The crazy dog is obsessed with beavers...well, anything that moves really....lol.

I don't often have access to a computer these days as I'm not in the city very often anymore. Can't say I miss it a whole lot, but I do miss the ease of photo/information sharing.

Silver and I are doing really well out in the country. It's nice not having to worry about him being in danger of traffic etc... I do wish my friends would visit more often though (I think the outhouse scares them off) spoiled city folk...lol.

So here's some photos I've taken over some time...hope you enjoy. :)
