Five Metropolitan Police officers were injured when a dog attacked them in east London. Officers from Newham went to an address in Albert Square, Stratford, to make an arrest when they were attacked at about 09:00 GMT. Four of the officers suffered serious injuries and the fifth PC has minor injuries. The animal, described as a pitbull-type dog, was shot dead. A man in his 20s, has been arrested. He remains in custody in an east London police station. The injured officers are all in a stable condition in hospital. A dog unit and armed officers from CO19 Specialist Firearms Command were called to the scene following the attack. The animal was contained before being shot. I commend your commitment to helping your sister (and her new hubby). It appears to me that you have really tried with her but now you should sit back and wait to see if she has learnt anything - if she actually gets deeper and comes running back, then you can point out that you had tried your hardest to put her on the right path to recovery. She then would only have two options = 1, fights her own battle (which she will lose) or 2, accepts your total control of her finances. Even though she is your kin you can only help so much - but she must be willing to help herself (to recovery and not into further debt). ps. please can you replace the f word (7th paragraph)- thanks

One of our friends is an actor - he was in 51st State with Meat Loaf, Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Carlyle. He's done Emmerdale and loads of stage stuff. He's currently on tv in an advert. Speaking about him here has reminded my OH that he needs to go visit him. He is just one of several celebrities that we have as a friend for various reasons.
