  1. I have 3 cats and one 9 month old husky. I had the cats before the dog so when he came (Buddy)he was eight weeks old and he was raised around the cats. The two oldest cats he doesn’t mess with them. One day he got too close and he got scratched ever since then he stays away. The smallest cat plays with him and they chase each other around playfully. All four of my pets get along they can walk right by the dog and he doesn’t do anything at all. I was worried about getting a dog when I had the cats but I think because he was so young when we introduced him to the cats he was more adaptable. So far I can have all of them together and no problems at all. I can even feed them near each other. But of course if the cat don’t finish the food he would. We do have another puppy Nextdoor (my daughters dog) that was the same age different breed though and they play together a lot rougher so maybe that helps with him not wanting to play rough with the cats. Seems to know the difference. So far so good. Sent from my iPad using Husky Owners mobile appI sent pictures but this damn website always messes up with pictures. MOs of them I can’t see. Anyone else have the same problems?? Frustrating makes me want to use another Husky forum. Grr Sent from my iPad using Husky Owners
  2. Not too sure. I’m new here too I do notice that I can’t see a lot of pictures. I just get an icon that looks like a torn picture. Anyone else having the same issue? but your video I was able to see it’s awesome seeing your dog swimming. How do you have 8 Siberian huskies ? must have a lot of room. Lucky you 🙂
  3. Wow that’s pretty cool. Beautiful dog. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners
  4. Wow I hope my dog stays the way he is. Hearing all these details of problems. I don’t know if I’m lucky or what. But my 5 month old puppy is doing great. He was biting a lot when he was like three months old but seems a lot better now. I never played rough with him and never let him bite my hands, ever! When he would get to where he wants to bite everything I would put a chew toy in his mouth. And then pet him. He’s five months old and listens pretty well so far. He’s very smart. Plays a little rough with my daughters puppy (same age different breed) but I’m working on that. And they will both be nuetered next month. He does like to dig through. Found a bunch of holes in my backyard. But Other than that he’s very well mannered. Sent from my iPad using Husky Owners
  5. Great video Your dog really enjoys the water. Does it have a life vest at all?? Did it take it long to get used to the water? My dog is only 5 months and we haven’t been to the water yet so, so far his only experience is in the bathtub for a bath. And he absolutely hates it. He acts like a cat in water. Lol. Maybe he’ll react differently when he’s older. Wondered how my dog would do in a boat. I’m thinking it maybe too scary for him. We vacation in Tahoe every year and rent boats. Just trying to figure how the dogs gonna do or should we keep him home. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners

  8. Thank you, I agree they are pretty stinking cute. Lol. Thanks for all your input. I realize all dogs and situations are different but hearing others similar stories are helpful. So it’s definitely appreciated I know in the video of the dogs playing rough it shows Kobe between my legs hiding. But he was there because he was being ordered to go home and he did not want to go home. He was hiding not necessarily from my dog but from my daughter who was wanting him to go home. So as far as the rough play goes, I’ve been keeping an eye on them a lot more. When things get too rough (because I do see blood on my dog periodically-that’s what started this whole thing in the first place ) but anyway I distract them with treats which are usually just their dog food kibble. It seems to calm them down at least for a little while enough time to disrupt and distract from the rough biting. 🙂
  9. Hi I appreciate everyone’s input and replies Thank you To answer your question, no both pups are not neutered yet. They are both scheduled to have they’re procedures done on the same day 3/8/19. That way both dogs can heal at the same time and if they have to wear the cones they will both have them on at the same time. I do hear different stories on whether or not it’s best to get them nuetered now or later. So with all my information I’m choosing to get it done earlier rather than later. I’ve had other male dogs and they both were rescued, fixed and chipped before I ever took them home. They were young and never had any problems. They both lived long healthy lives. I’ve attached a small clip of their rough play. It’s a short clip mind you and The clip is taken after they’ve already played for a while so they were just winding down. And in the video my dog looks like the aggressor but it goes both ways. Since reading all the responses I have been doing my best to stop them from biting each other‘s necks during playtime. Also attached a short clip of the both of them they listen so much better with treats lol BA9EE4FB-5DB0-4BAB-A14B-D45A987ACD69.MOV D37C7058-AEDD-421A-AD0B-E0146B6FCD1D.MOV As you can see neither one listen too well. When they’re playing. Oh I would like to add that I’m using Vetericyn Plus. On my dogs skin where it looks irritated. Anyone else have experience with this product? It supposedly helps a with all kinds of things from abrasions, lacerations, irritations, cuts and burns.
  10. Yes I see how your dogs play. Mine are similar but they are definitely doing the throat biting. They also jump on each other and roll around. Sounds similar to your dogs with a lot of growling but your dogs seem a lot more playful. I don’t know if mine are trying to establish dominance or what. But they’re both five months and they’re both males. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners

  12. Hi Husky lovers. I have a 5 month old Pomsky “Buddy”. He plays pretty rough with my daughters pup “Kobe”. Kobe is the same age and he is a German Shepherd lab mix. They are about the same size but when they play they play really roughly and I noticed some blood on my dog and a few missing patches of hair. I don’t know if it’s from fighting with the other dog and playing too rough or if there something else going on with his hair. He licks at it and the skin looks irritated. I’m taking him to the vet on Tuesday but just wondering if anybody else has any kind of things like this with their pets. He’s otherwise a very healthy dog. He’s up-to-date on all his shots. He’s only been in contact with other dogs three times at a dog park. He does not have fleas. He gets Frontline monthly. I was wondering also if it’s possible he’s allergic to his dog food. Should he be on a wheat free diet? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
