  1. Got my notification a couple of weeks back. Personally I’m taking the voucher, as soon as they open, I’ll go anyway just for a break from the status quo. Not worried about expiry dates as they will extend them until they open, regardless of when that is. But mine was only £130 so, not exactly a massive bonus. @Marc is right though. Can’t plan anything until we know the score, we don’t know how long this will last. :-(

  3. @simplysie Be great to see you there, we always take our touring caravan. I’ll find the site plan as it is allocated pitches now so you can see where we put the communal camp. I always request a pitch near by.
  4. Just realised I havent actually booked yet, but I bring my own accomodation, so wont be a problem. This year we had allocated pitches in the field for the first time, so will co-ordinate with Dunc to make sure we get the usual corner. And of course, we will have three dogs this year, Lucy, Ares and Kevin.

  6. Suns out at camp unlike yesterday, showers all evening. So need to finish unloading car this morning. Safe journey everybody, see you when you get here. Guessing just after lunch for most of you.
  7. Good luck sorting the motors @DanUK I see @robke has made it across the channel and is now driving on the correct side of the road. Dog food and Stella packed and caravan on charge with fridge on. Swearing involved as couldn’t find the power adapter last night so bought a new one. They only had EU ones so modified it last night. Went to plug it in just now, couldn’t find it anywhere. 20 mins later and I found the original one before the new one. Dumbass (Ares) and Lucy know we are packing and won’t leave my side, going to be very disappointed tonight as they are going to vets not camp. #badhuskydad Lucy is blowing, but it’s not coming out, can you all take turns brushing her? See you all Thursday or Friday

  10. Weather is looking good now. Packing is underway, but lost the charging adapter for the van.
  11. Good point Rob, I use it to balance the nose weight. Ironically, all that Stella came from Magor Brewery in Wales.
  12. Yeah, but I never seem to have time to go to Asda the first few days. And I buy it when on offer, £13, which is cheaper than Fosters.

  16. Finally got round to phoning to book my pitch number. Was someone else on 107, but they chucked them off for me. Happy Days. Good job I phoned as I was booked Friday to Friday, would have been very disappointed on arrival. Chloe at Ty Mawr was very helpful and sorted everything, looking forward to seeing the dogs next week. her brother has two, so I told her he should pop down and see us.

  19. 2 weeks today, we should all be together. Can’t wait. But to make sure we are together we need to request pitches. I was told categorically last week that it is reserved pitches only. Whilst it may be quiuet and can maybe flex the rules, they were pretty adamant. None of last years security were there, but New bloke Paul was pretty helpful and loves dogs. As far as I can tell, we only have three or four pitches booked. Me, Rob, Dunc (party tent) and possibly Matt. I am going to request 107 (unless Matt would like in which case 106) so that back of van is to camp, easier for dogs. The space in front of utility building is not a plot, Rob you normally pitch at 10 or 11, so do you want to book 10 and Dunc book 108 so we can occupy the whole area?

  21. Four weeks today, people will be arriving to join me and @robke. Cant wait to see you all again. I have finished the caravan repairs/mods ready for test run next week. Repaired the Truma blown air heating. Having previously decided it was scrap, in the process of removing, found a damaged PCB which I have 'modified'. Replaced the single electrical socket in the Kitchen with a double that includes USB charging points. Fitted the old kitchen socket at foot of the bed, perfectly place for 'Hoover' and hairdryer. Fitted another double socket with USB in overhead locker at foot of bed, perfect for charging kit out of site and provided sockes for (5). Fitted additional Cold Fan / Heater in over head locker, perfectly placed to blow length of caravan. Hides nicely out of site when locker closed.
  22. Five weeks today everyone! I have been contemplating switching my phone from Apple to Android before camp so thought I would do some tests. Decided to stick with Apple rather than Android as it is much faster. I asked them both to plot my journey times from home to camp:- Apple: 3 hours 23 minutes Android: 3 hours 38 minutes
  23. LOL - That is why I said "had a river running through it" and put beach in inverted commas. ie. flat beach like entry to the river. Kept me busy in my Lunch Break though, trying to find it on google maps.
  24. It was nice there, but not what I was thinking of. Its West, has no river and not very scooter friendly. After staring at Google Maps for a while, I found it. Alyn Waters!
