  1. Well, the vet says she has a sensitive tummy and that I should look out for that. Last winter was more rainy that snowy, so that could be the reason for her illness.
  2. So Kali and I went for a bike ride yesterday and here are some of the pictures I took (not many as the ride was quite bumpy): Preparing for the big ride/run: The route: After almost 20km of constant running, she's almost exhausted so we stopped for awhile so she could take a quick break: And finally back home. Oh and it started raining so both her and I were soaking wet by the time we got home. But it was incredibly fun cycling in the rain nonetheless: And some bonus pics that I took today as she's taking full advantage of that well earned rest day :
  3. Hello everyone, As title suggests, I was thinking about letting my dog sleep outside this winter. The reasoning behind it is that she gets sick easily when it's winter because it's usually really hot inside (sometimes it goes up to 35* C ~ 95 Fahrenheit), and really cold outside (-15 to -10* C) which is a huge difference in temperature that usually results in a fever of some sort that translates to roughly 3 weeks of no activity whatsoever for her and an unhappy and sad puppy. So, by leaving her outside 80% of the time, I thought she might build up tolerance which in turn will spare her of all the shots and vet visits that she undergoes when she's sick. What are your thoughts on this? Oh and I will most definitely consult with my vet before doing this. And if anyone's wondering, she's 1.5 years old. Cheers!
  4. OMG, your husky looks exactly like mine. I mean exactly, same coloring, same mask, same goofy poses. This is so weird..
  5. Well, thanks for all the great comments guys. I thought I was going crazy for being all paranoid and stuff. I heard that a lot of dogs got stolen last year, so that is why I was so freaked out by all that. A friend even told me that one guy attempted to lure her dog on a bike. Some scary stuff indeed.
  6. I too get that as well, people come up to me all the time. However, something about these people was just off. They were just... odd.
  7. What I'm planning to do with my pup is attach a lead to a bike and bike with her. 1. It's a great exercise for you 2. Your dog gets tired in no time It's a win win solution. Just teach them to run by your side and it should be great. If you're having trouble biking with both dogs, maybe do it one dog at a time.
  8. Hello everyone, So about an hour ago I took my dog out for some playtime. I live in an apartment, so I have to exercise her quite a bit. Now, we have this basketball cage-type of thingy just outside of our building, that is usually crowded, but since it was rainy outside nobody was playing. So I decided to let her play with some tennis balls and an empty battle. As we were playing, strange couple approached me asking if they could come in and pet my dog, I didn't think anything of it and said yes. Now, they started jumping and getting my dog all excited, kissing her (which was strange, I mean, she was all wet). Now, she's really a gorgeous dog, every time I walk by somebody I hear a comment along the lines of: "what I beautiful dog", "I've never seen such a pretty Husky pup" (not trying to sound arrogant or anything -- but it is tangential to the story). Anyway back to the story, so they were all jumping and it wasn't really that strange, they took their cell phone to take some pictures and to be honest, to a absolute stranger walking by it would have been cute, but to me it was really freaking creepy. My instincts told to me to run and get away from these people, as I hear stories about people stealing dogs and such. Maybe I'm crazy, but I was totally freaked out. On the one hand I didn't want to sound rude and say hey back off or no, you cannot pet my dog, but at the same time I was really creep'd out by their behavior. Just wanted to share that with you guys, pretty random day so far. Cheers!
  9. I too am working really hard on the off leash training, but I don't really trust my dog to that extent that I can leave her freely. She does come back every time I call her, but I know I would be devastated if something what to happen to my Khaleesi. I wish huskies were off-leash safe, but then I again I guess the reason why they aren't is because they're mad like that.
  10. She was playing with her buddy. No, she didn't care at all whether or not I was freezing to death. But all's forgiven when she looks at me that way Winkies: Having some mixed feelings about the hairdryer:
  11. Hello everyone, So Khaleesi is almost 7 months old and I've worked really hard with her on off-leash training. I've followed all sorts of tips and tricks that I picked from the Internet. She is generally good off-leash, she comes when called, however, that is when she's not playing with other dogs. Just a few days ago I was working with her when she saw a dog, she focused on him almost ready to run off to say hi, so I called her and she came instantly, no hesitations. So she's doing well so far with some distractions. I always work on 'come here' command whenever I can, in every possible environment that I can put her in. Now, just yesterday as she was playing with her buddy, she saw another friend of hers in the distance and within a seconds she ran off to say hello. Of course, she turned a deaf ear on me and I had to go after her -- she did stop when I was in relatively close distance, so I am wondering if anyone had success with their husky off-leash and how they introduced higher level of distractions, like other dogs etc.
  12. Khaleesi plays fetch when I execute it properly. That means, I have to get her really interested in the ball or otherwise she would just grab it and run around like crazy with the ball in her mouth. But I am getting progress, slowly, but surely she is more willing to bring the ball back to me.
  13. Yeah, I know this isn't the "right now" picture, but I took it 2 weeks ago and is the last one that I took. I am not home right now so I won't see my doge for few days. But anyway, here's a picture: Her coat was all wet because she just got out of the bath. Surprisingly, she enjoyed the bath.
  14. He's adorable. Love the first picture, his face is priceless. Anyway, greetings from Serbia and welcome to the pack!
