  1. Hello everyone So this is kind of a silly question. BUT...I am about to buy a new car and one of the hard decisions is leather seats vs. cloth. I really wanted leather, but I'm afraid Misha's nails will rip it. I thought it would be a bonus with cleaning and the hair not sticking as bad...and of course heated seats Anyone have leather seats and never had a problem? Misha doesn't travel in a crate, and she usually hops from front to back often, window to window... Thanks!
  2. I did just give her some chicken and rice w a tiny bit of broth and olive oil. She loved it hehe. They gave her pain meds, only two: one for tonight and one for tomorrow night. It's called Rimadyl 100mg
  3. I assumed they fed her yesterday afternoon after surgery, yes. But since then nothing to eat. I filled her bowl when she got home and she didn't even look at it. I'm going to try some skinless chicken and rice and broth. Not sure what else. She is so sensitive to food that will prob give her diarrhea anyways haha So when should I start to be concerned?
  4. Hey guys! So Misha was spayed yesterday and I took her home today. She's been fine, drinking water and sleeping all day. Has had a couple treats, but no real appetite. I took her out to try to poop and as soon as she went to push she started screaming!!!! Not sure if it's pain from the surgery or constipation from the anesthesia... Any advice? I know keep drinking water...should I try chicken broth?
  5. Do I still have to worry about her getting pregnant when it's over? Or is it only during heat that I have to be careful...
  6. And she won't get it again in that time right? It's only twice a year? Sorry I'm so naive about this...never had a female dog.
  7. So Misha ended up going into heat (her first one) a week before her scheduled spaying. I ended up sticking to my vet by the way. She is STILL BLEEDING!!! ahhh!! haha how long does this last?! Tomorrow will be a full 3 weeks!! And (not to sound gross) her vagina is really swollen still, how long does that last?? Now that she is in heat, how long after do I have to wait? 3 months? 6 weeks?
  8. HAHA love it. Misha is still so tiny and farts just as loud as I do sometimes it's hilarious. And she just plays it off like nothing happened. lol
  9. This is so confusing. See, I've mostly read to do it before she goes into heat because it lowers the risk of cancers. But then another site said that it can mess with their growth and they will appear skinning with long legs and small heads......I just want to do the right thing. Misha is already small with skinny legs lol....
  10. Hello to anyone reading this My now almost 9 month old Misha is going to be spayed the end of this month. So far she hasn't been in heat at all, what is the general age that it starts? I am a little nervous about the surgery. I know that they will go over most of my questions when I go, but what should I expect with this? Will she have personality changes? Someone told me they will mellow out more? What about other side effects I should look for when she gets home? Also thought I'd get opinions about where to go to get it done. I was just going to bring her to her vet ($194). But my dad told me he brough his dog to a shelter not far from where I live and they did a great job. My aunt went there as well. And it's only $89! The difference is they don't stay the night at the shelter like they do the vet.... What are your opinions...is it a big deal if she doesn't stay over night?? Thanks!
  11. Hello everyone! I was thinking about this topic the other day. Thought I would come back with another update. So our diarrhea days are finally over. It took months!!!!!!!! I don't even know what changed or how she really finally got better, but it's been over a month since she has had diarrhea. Thank god....
  12. Hey everyone, sorry I don't come on here that much. So...update: I brought her to the vet and she tested negative for everything. BUT they found she had a lo of bacteria in her stool, more so than normal. So they put her on an antibiotic along with a probiotic to get her GI back and running more normal. It has helped a lot. She's done with the probiotic and still has a few days left of the antibiotic. Her stools are formed, I still see a little mucus in it at times though. She told me that if I don't think it works to call back and she will change to another antibiotic. I also asked her about her weight and she thinks Misha is no longer underweight. She is now at 22lbs and does look a lot more healthy than she did when I first got her. So I am pleased
  13. Anndddd....her last poo just had bloody mucus in it. Oh...it's just getting better and better....
