  5. Good evening my name is dan and here are my little ladies Sasha and Diaz. We are hoping to compete in canicross events once they are older. I found this forum when searching for an enclosed park to take them for off lead training. And decided to become a member due to the sheer amount wealth of knowledge and advice. Also love the idea of husky camp!! Hopefully can make it next year also. Merry Christmas to you all. Sent from my SM-G935F using Husky Owners mobile app

  6. Hi everyone. For close to 20 years now I have dreamt of owning my own Husky. Due to circumstances never being just right for this breed we started our pack with a Jack Russell and then a Pomeranian. On the 23rd of December after moving into a new house with a big yard my husband surprised me with this divine girl! She is 8 weeks old and we love her to bits. We are so happy she has joined our family. Looking forward to being part of this forum Rachael x Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

  7. Hello! My name is Patrick, I'm a 24 year old broadcast sound engineer working for BBC News. I moved into my first proper house in Feburary and decided that I would finally check 'get a husky' off my bucket list. I met the pup and his parents several weeks ago, and am picking Frankie up on the 13th of this month. The breeder has been sending me lots of photographs since - and I've noticed that he appears to have a lazy eye. I'm just wondering if this is a health problem, or something that is benign and may even correct itself in due course. Aesthetics don't really bother me, he's a beautiful pupper - but I'd like to know I'm not staring at a red flag. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

  12. Yeah pups are always hungry but too much in any one sitting will give him the runs. Keep an eye on his stools, if they are runny decrease the amount a bit. It's all trial and error with every pup

  15. Only thing I can think of is to have him on a lead for a bit first when greeting other dogs that way u can make him sit n relax if he starts getting too rough Sent from my E6653 using Husky Owners mobile app

  16. I think sticking to 1 might be best for her as switching food can cause upset tummies. Great choice though! Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

  17. If she is only 5 weeks old, that's the sort of thing she would have learnt from her litter mates. They would cry if one of them bit too hard, so try that or try saying a firm no, but don't point as she will think it's something else to bite! Or when she bites fold your arms and ignore her, she will learn that she gets no attention by biting Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

  19. In the last months we've been pretty busy in the far north of Sweden. During the holiday season the business pretty much exploded and we got busy nearly every day. Although it's tough on some times it's still loads of fun and very rewarding at the end of the day. The dogs are doing great. Dex is incredible determined to pull and is doing a really good job at it as well, we're starting to use him as a leader more often now. He is the loudest dog when the team takes a break because he always wants to keep running Since the first of January we actually have sunrises and sunsets again but the sun is still so low that I haven't actually seen the sun myself yet. Still waiting... Anyway here are some pictures from the last few weeks. Happy faces across all creatures!

  20. -12°C? We already had -38°C/-36°F here At that point it takes about 15 minutes to gear up and the air outside if just painful.

  22. Hello to everyone on this site hope all is going well for you today! As of a week ago I am now the proud father of a nine week old little girl named Willow. When I was about six years old I had my first encounter with a husky at some little local parade in my town. Once the owner let me play with him I couldn't care less about what was going on around me haha. Now twenty years later I took the leap and decided now was the time to finally have one! In the weeks prior to me getting her from the mother I spent some time doing some research on the breed but I never really got any quality information. Now that I've found this site I hope to learn a lot from everyone here and hopefully I can help someone else out in the long run!

  26. New to the forum and new husky owner. Baxter joined our family about three weeks ago. I've done more research and read more threads than ever as I am super excited he has joined us and looking forward to many good times together. Wanted to say thank you for the posts, as I have learned a lot thus far. He is now 11 weeks old, he knowns three commands and getting along quiet well with the family. The potty training is hard, but reading through everyone's ideas, we are heading in the right direction. Looking forward to continue learning and being apart of the group. Hi my names Daryl and I am A first time husky owner, I got storm who is 3 years old of A friend of mine who just couldnt cope with him because of his behaviour, to cut a long story short he bought Storm and then realised that it had been badly treated and he was very scared and my friend just couldnt handle it so I took him and got the vet to check him he is healthy and settling in really well with me hes came around to me enough to copy me howling hello and I love you so heres to me giving him the life that he deserves and hope he can one day over come his past this app has helped me from i got him I just didnt confirm my email so I couldnt post but it really has all that is needed and all but one of my questions has been answered by looking trough the app but the question is that when Storm is sleeping he would sometimes like cry in his sleep I put this down to his past, but is there anything I can do to help stop this? Thanks. Sent from my SM-G361F using Husky Owners mobile app

  37. I'm still learning the husky mind and how it works and how to train them. My one year old (grey black) hunter was easy to train with food. But without it he rarely responds. On walls how ever he listens without treats as he loves the outside! Clover (brown) on the other hand has been very hard to train as her temperament and patience is very thin. I have maybe 4 commands in the 5 months I've had her (She's 8 months total) she likes food but isn't motivated to listen. Just wants. She unlike hunter enjoys play. I tried that. Nope haha! Anyone have any focus training for her as really she just needs focus. If not I will just have to wait a bit longer for her puppy side to calm down. Thanks for reading, I hope to gain some great tips here!
