(not entirely new to the site but I've been gone for about a year and a half after losing Dexter at 11 months due to a congenital liver shunt that couldn't be repaired) After Dexter having to be put down from his liver shunt a year and half ago now I decided to try again. Almost two months ago now I drove 560 miles total, down to MD, to pick up my little Jed. So far he's a healthy, energetic little Husky pup who loves to play and likes to eat everything (we have had one trip to the Vet for this already). He has a very sensitive stomach though which has lead him to a bland diet for the time being and some medicine to help harden up his loose stools. Other than that... he's presenting nice and healthy! I'm absolutely terrified of anything happening to him because of Dexter. He's a huge mama's boy and I'm so happy I finally went and got another Husky pup!

As one goes out, another comes in. Went down to Devon to collect 3 year old Ice - well worth the trip as she's such a lovely girl. A bit timid with people, fine with dogs (including our 6) and great with little kids (lived with 3) but a bit of an escape artist When the only camera you have to hand is your phone: Loves watching the world go by out the window Previous vet stated she didn't like jabs and needed muzzling. Most definitely not! Soft as butter And looks like we may have a potential home lined up for her already

So I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and pepper the frenchie was messing around and chewing on ICE’s locked crate door. Next thing I know, I turn around and the crate door is wide open, Pepper’s standing there looking pleased with herself and Ice has gone inside it! [emoji23] He won’t come out either! It's taken 3 years to build this bond but Lilly and Sydney sure do have a lot of love for each other. I often think that Sydney thinks she's a dog, she shares their water bowl, I have often caught her getting dog treats and giving them to Lambo and Lilly from the tin..... if only she would make them sit first 🙄. But just thought I'd share that cat and husky relationships are possible 😍

Hello! I already posted in the Health section yesterday and some people offer us some great advice. But I suppose I should officially introduce us! My name is Hayley, my husband (Caleb) and our son (Rohan) live up in the blue mountains in Oregon in the United States. We also have two cats named Baelish and Varys. We have talked about adopting a dog since last winter when we bought our house with a HUGE yard and a doggy door already installed. We have been checking local animal shelter listings looking for either a husky or a lab, and last Tuesday we saw Drogo in our local shelter, went and met him and decided to bring him home! What we know about the first approximately three years of his life is very little. He was found starving and dirty tied to a tree. He waited for owners to find him for a month before being put up for adoption and howled for most of it. He has a lot of separation anxiety and has been fairly sick since coming home, but we are nearly 24 hours sick free and got him to eat rice and chicken last night! He isn't shy about water and has stayed hydrated. We are really impressed with him already. He knows a few basic commands and is great with kids. He walks with me to take my son to school and pick him up and we've started letting kids pet him, he loves the attention! He even gets on well with one of our cats, they lay next to each and touch noses and sniff each other, the other cat wants nothing to do with them. Though both cats have a kitty door installed going up to the loft area so they have a large safe space he can't get to. I'm excited to see what his personality is like as he starts to feel more at home and gain back the weight he lost!

We picked up our second boy today & are totally in love with him! He is such a gorgeous, playful wee pup - he is 9 weeks old and is a Husky/Akita cross. All is going very well so far, our 4 year old Husky/Alsatian Barnaby wasn't quite sure what was happening at first but with a bit of love and encouragement he is taking to his new baby brother well lol. Loki was a complete surprise for my 2 sons - so safe to say our household is a very happy one tonight. 2 huskies, a rabbit & 2 kids, ages 2 and 5. I just be mental lol! Let the fun begin... (I decided to make a megathread, where I only post about him here. He isn’t a husky, after all!) So, we picked up the puppy on the 28th. He yowled in the car (missing his litter mates/pack?). Brought him home, and upon breeder’s advice we have been keeping Daisy and him separated (they can smell each other through the door, but no physical contact. Breeder says any negative encounter with a dog at his age will affect him for life) Daisy has been avoiding him anyways, and she still gets love, attention, walks, etc. That night in his crate, alone (breeder’s/trainer’s ‘orders’) he yowled for 4 hours straight. After he was quiet for ~5 seconds I let him out of the crate and carried him outside to potty. Apparently that was a mistake because the next morning the breeder said I was only supposed to let him out when he fell asleep. I thought 5 seconds was enough quiet time? So because of all that stress, and the fact he got into some cheese while I wasn’t watching him for 5 seconds, he developed gastro problems and diarrhea for almost 24 hours. Called up breeder for advice, she said to reduce his meals by half, add goat’s milk to it, and give him half a tablet of peptobismol. And to sleep in his room (non-crated) until his digestive system settle down. So I have been doing that. Tonight (or maybe even today for practice), if his stools are still normal I will stick him in the crate and not let him out until he falls asleep. I don’t want another dog with separation anxiety - already went through that with Suka. I decided to name him Draco, and for the past couple days I have been working on getting him to recognize his name (it’s hit or miss right now), the come command (not going so well), and collar training. I have been trying to make the crate seem like a happy place too, but that’s not going so well. Made somebmistakes so far, but he’s my first puppy so I guess that’s expected. Anyways, here are pictures in chronological order. His ears are starting to come up.

in my home town i live just off to the side the centre is the rail way station and nightclubs, with the state of my back and my medication I tend to wake up in the early hours. So whilst waiting for the next dose to kick in I go for a walk as i am in less pain up and about than sitting or trying to lay down waiting for the meds to kick in for an hour 3am is this morning i get up after all the drunks in town had left and went for a walk got dragged onto te station platform by the trainspotter husky and found a handbag purse phone bank cards etc and a few bits of shopping dumping in the bus shelter thing they have on the platform well I took it down tried to hand it to the police and was told not our problem ... went home and put the phone on charge hour or so ago i got a call told the caller why i had the phone and they told me. They had come up from swansea to cardiff for the rugby done a little shopping and whilst they stopped off for a drink some one robbed them, picked up the shopping bags and handbag, The cash had gone but phone etc was left dumped miles away from where they lived an hours drive. Now this isnt the first time i have done this normaly i am really lucky if i get a grumbled thanks, the normal response is a nasty look as they walk away with out even the offer of a coffee from greggs etc this time i was kindly given a bottle of red wine as thanks. I am really thinking about just ignoring the phones and wallets i see on the ground but maybe its still worth trying to help people I think the worst one was when i returned a wallet with a lot of cash in it to its own and the guy counted the cash said good its all there and walked away without even a thank you. I am not doing this for a reward just to be a good person but with the bad atitudes and accusing looks and total lack of gratitude this simple offer of a thank you bottle of wine prooves that I am not alone and that some good people still ive in the world

Attached is the thin, leggy image of Dakota. Unusual for a Siberian in that they are usually blockier. He sits pretty, viewed from either the front or side. He is also a little long. As with most Siberians, he is very smart and not at all submissive. DAKOTA is very sweet, but not at all trustworthy. He loves pizza and will try to sneak a piece if he doesn't think that I am paying attention. ~ANGIE, ARMANI & ALINAH~
