(not entirely new to the site but I've been gone for about a year and a half after losing Dexter at 11 months due to a congenital liver shunt that couldn't be repaired) After Dexter having to be put down from his liver shunt a year and half ago now I decided to try again. Almost two months ago now I drove 560 miles total, down to MD, to pick up my little Jed. So far he's a healthy, energetic little Husky pup who loves to play and likes to eat everything (we have had one trip to the Vet for this already). He has a very sensitive stomach though which has lead him to a bland diet for the time being and some medicine to help harden up his loose stools. Other than that... he's presenting nice and healthy! I'm absolutely terrified of anything happening to him because of Dexter. He's a huge mama's boy and I'm so happy I finally went and got another Husky pup!

As one goes out, another comes in. Went down to Devon to collect 3 year old Ice - well worth the trip as she's such a lovely girl. A bit timid with people, fine with dogs (including our 6) and great with little kids (lived with 3) but a bit of an escape artist When the only camera you have to hand is your phone: Loves watching the world go by out the window Previous vet stated she didn't like jabs and needed muzzling. Most definitely not! Soft as butter And looks like we may have a potential home lined up for her already

So I was in the kitchen cooking dinner and pepper the frenchie was messing around and chewing on ICE’s locked crate door. Next thing I know, I turn around and the crate door is wide open, Pepper’s standing there looking pleased with herself and Ice has gone inside it! [emoji23] He won’t come out either! It's taken 3 years to build this bond but Lilly and Sydney sure do have a lot of love for each other. I often think that Sydney thinks she's a dog, she shares their water bowl, I have often caught her getting dog treats and giving them to Lambo and Lilly from the tin..... if only she would make them sit first 🙄. But just thought I'd share that cat and husky relationships are possible 😍

Hello! I already posted in the Health section yesterday and some people offer us some great advice. But I suppose I should officially introduce us! My name is Hayley, my husband (Caleb) and our son (Rohan) live up in the blue mountains in Oregon in the United States. We also have two cats named Baelish and Varys. We have talked about adopting a dog since last winter when we bought our house with a HUGE yard and a doggy door already installed. We have been checking local animal shelter listings looking for either a husky or a lab, and last Tuesday we saw Drogo in our local shelter, went and met him and decided to bring him home! What we know about the first approximately three years of his life is very little. He was found starving and dirty tied to a tree. He waited for owners to find him for a month before being put up for adoption and howled for most of it. He has a lot of separation anxiety and has been fairly sick since coming home, but we are nearly 24 hours sick free and got him to eat rice and chicken last night! He isn't shy about water and has stayed hydrated. We are really impressed with him already. He knows a few basic commands and is great with kids. He walks with me to take my son to school and pick him up and we've started letting kids pet him, he loves the attention! He even gets on well with one of our cats, they lay next to each and touch noses and sniff each other, the other cat wants nothing to do with them. Though both cats have a kitty door installed going up to the loft area so they have a large safe space he can't get to. I'm excited to see what his personality is like as he starts to feel more at home and gain back the weight he lost!

We picked up our second boy today & are totally in love with him! He is such a gorgeous, playful wee pup - he is 9 weeks old and is a Husky/Akita cross. All is going very well so far, our 4 year old Husky/Alsatian Barnaby wasn't quite sure what was happening at first but with a bit of love and encouragement he is taking to his new baby brother well lol. Loki was a complete surprise for my 2 sons - so safe to say our household is a very happy one tonight. 2 huskies, a rabbit & 2 kids, ages 2 and 5. I just be mental lol! Let the fun begin... The time has come to make the pending announcement a simple, ordinary, everyday, run-of-the-mill announcement. No more beating around the bush, no more procrastinating, no more beating a dead horse, no more guessing, no more speculation, no more wondering what the deal is. No sir, we are going to get right to the point, bring it to the top, give it the highest priority, forego all the pomp and circumstance, give it to you straight. t The above pics are of our new pack member Luke! Not Fred, Don, or Mike, but Luke. He is about the same age as our Rohn, and we got him as a rescue, from the Door County Sled Dogs. Great organization. So today, we drove about 190 miles, up into Wisconsin, spent a few hours, and drove home with Luke. Things are a bit dicey at the moment with Rohn, but they will work it out over the next few days. So there you have it. This concludes both the former pending announcement, and the actual announcement. One more pic of Luke.

Been quite some time since I've stopped by. Want to update those of you who remember me or the girls... Ryn will be eight, yes EIGHT next month, and Tunes is approximately six and a half. Where does the time go? We've had some health issues - Tunes had elevated liver enzymes and so I now home-cook their meals. Ryn has dropped six pounds and is no longer a 'Missy Moo' - rather 'Skinny, Minny, Rynnie'! And Tunes, who rarely ate more than two meals in a row, now never misses a meal and is holding her own at 44 pounds. They are still doing therapy work and loving every minute of it. Sadly tomorrow is the funeral of one of their favorite individuals - 104 years young! Ryn will miss him so and I'm planning on taking her to the funeral so she understands what is going on when we visit the care center and he is no longer there. She will miss him dearly. Take care. Miss you all! Becky

Found this forum while searching for Huskies chewing on wood.\ We lost out 13+ year old Siberian Husky mix Lexi to bone cancer the beginning of this October. Our Vet called three weeks ago, asking if we would be open to adopting a year old Husky. We are now the proud friend of a wonderful Husky, Lola. We are her fourth home in a year, and she is a keeper. People just don't understand how much energy they have or how to help them mature. They are truelu wonderful companions.

Meet KAIMANA (means DIAMOND in Hawaiian)! KAIMANA is almost AGE18 & my DAD's 2nd dog!!! (He lives next door with my twin brother TONY.) In 2000, I found KAI while driving home & stopped my car for some reason. KAI was lost & seemed scared but walked up to my car trusting me! It was at night & I wasn't about to leave this little white puppy by the woods & creek. He was about 12weeks. His accomplishments are: KAI got his driver's license at age16, is a senior in high school, almost to graduate, & going to go to the University of Dogs&Paws!!! KAI still walks, sees, hears, and eats very well ... he has his own personal chef, my brother TONY!! He's very demanding & his forte is "speaking" and quite loudly!! KAIMANA is a true gift from God, is a genuine blessing to our family, & he is the best quality & clarith of a DIAMOND!!! I love this beautiful baby with all my heart!!
