  4. Training takes time and patience, it took me the best part of 18 months for them to be well behaved, to listen to commands and to learn boundaries. Yours is still a baby and she’s just having fun at the moment, I’d advise lots of research as husky’s have a mind of their own, positively reinforce your training and be consistent, with time, patience and lots of praise you will get there. 7. Agree mental training, for example hand target training, will make them real tired...

  9. Last week
  10. A month ago my brother and I were running our usual route. Crossed a husky and he fallowed us all the way back home. No collar, dirty dirty dirty. I could wrap both hands around his belly and my fingers and thumbs could touch. Long story short I've had him for a month and a half. Took him to the vet to verify if he had a chip. No chip. Well trained. But he did have hook worms as well as heart worms. My concern is that he is so very active, after his heart worm treatment in a week he will have to be watched and kept from raising his heart rate up. No running, no free roam. The vet said that could very well be fatal. So I'm asking for this month period. How should I keep him entertained? I don't want to keep everyone up because he is barking of being board. Or pacing in the night. He gets that way if he hasn't ran or had a full play day. Which is very rare. Also I checked all neighborhood Facebook pages in the area. Paraded him around my small town. Put up banners and no one has claimed him.

  12. Hello, could anyone help me identify this husky coat on a puppy I am considering. Thanks. I can email the photo but apparently I cannot post it here?
  13. Hi everyone, I would like to reintroduce us. We have been dormant on the forum for years and are sorry to have disappeared. My name is Alan and our little girl is Ela-Yona (earth bear in cherokee). Today is 7 years since she was rescued and became our little girl. We all had growing pains but she is truly one of the family. She even has a cat in her pack. When we first joined I had no idea what we were in for. Research on the internet and even going to a husky rescue will only tell half the tail haha. Thank you all for being here and we promise not to stay away so long.
  14. Thank you!! He’s very smart already! When he has to go potty and you ask him he will literally bark and tell you! Blows my mind!
  15. Absolutely stunning! what a heart-breaker.
  16. Its worth investing in a cheap dehydrator - much less hassle than trying to use an oven - for meat to dehydrate without actually cooking it you need a maximum temp of 70 degrees - I usually dehydrate meat around 60 degrees - if its sliced thin enough 50 degrees - most ovens minimum temp is 100 degrees so you have to leave the door ajar.
