  2. it will be yours that is where the trauma is / has been… fireworks can do more harm then some people think... keep it up and hope for the best…what worked with us is a special treat only used for this and nothing else...
  3. Thanks for replying - we keep trying with good treats - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. My daughter sometimes brings her husky and she will generally follow him - but she still stops sometimes. we'll just have to keep trying. She will go out no problem from my daughters house - it's just ours....
  4. My name is Sharon and I have a female husky called Luna who is 3 and a half. She is a stubborn so and so but very loving and I wouldn't have her any other way. She (as are many) is very fussy with her food and eats really slowly - whereas my daughters male husky is like a hoover - LOL.
  5. gentle training with rewards a little bit at the time…just not forcing it otherwise you will be further from home…is my advice… fireworks were one of ours biggest problem and could not get him to go out for a while after but gentle relaxed training helped and would have to be done every time after fireworks had been set off….
  6. My husky has recently started refusing to go out for a walk from my house - we can get her outside and onto the green area then she just tries to back out of her harness or lays down. She got frightened by the fireworks and then she got over it but now we seem to be back to square one. She will go in the car and go elsewhere but still seems to be scared of loud bangs - people slamming their doors etc. I don't know what to try and was hoping someone might be able to give me some ideas. Thanks Sharon

What do you supplement the food with to make up for the above deficiencies?

I think this is a decision only you can make - as only you really know just how fit your dog is to face such an op. Whilst your dog is at a really good age for modern standards - she may be one of the dogs that could live until her mid 20's. Personally I would not give up on a dog until she/he told me to.

Hello, my female husky is around 16 1/2 years old, still active but been to the vets last week and has a tumor on her mammary glad that has burst. Vets say that she needs to be operated on, but in my opinion she is far too old for an operation. I don't want to let her go but the vets say if she's not operated on she will get sepsis. Do you think she is too old?
  19. Sorry, never seen anything like this before - if it is an allergy of any kind (and not saying it is) then try bathing the paw every time your dog comes back home after being out. Apple Cider Vinegar and water is a good place to start.

  21. Hi All, Has anyone had bold patches on their husky that start like a horseshoe and then goes round? It's hard to describe so I added a picture on his paw. Been to the vets several times but they don't know what it is. Done skin biopsy ans said could be allergy to something or something to do with the immune system. We are at a loss of what to do. Has anyone seen anything similar before? Would appreciate any advice 🙏
