  1. The whites of manukas eyes have never been white, always a shade of red/pink. What could be the reasoning behind this? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  2. I asked about his eyes at this last appointment (2 weeks ago) my vet brushed it off and said they’re probably fine. I really dislike my current clinic but it’s the only one within an hour of me (small country town). I might have to make the longer trip when it cools down a little (I live in Australia been over 30 Celsius daily and my car doesn’t have a working ac.) He doesn’t have any other symptoms so hopefully he will be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  3. I believe it’s his whites, it’s from all angles, may not have been the best picture but it’s impossible to get him to stay still long enough to show it. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  4. My ideal was wolf grey with blue eyes. But that I got my boy I’m in love with the Parti eyes. They’re just so beautiful [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners
  5. I recently adopted my husky Manuka. Hes currently 10 weeks old and weighs 7kg. His diet at the moment consists of three meals a day. Breakfast- Two Tbsp of farax (rice cereal) with around 1/4 a cup of puppy milk formula and 1/4 of a Weetbix. Lunch- 50g of boiled chicken thigh fillet, 100g of cooked beef mince with grated carrot, turmeric and cinnamon, 50g of cooked brown rice, 1/2 a sardine, and a sprinkle of cheese Dinner- 150g of cooled beef mince with grated carrot, turmeric and cinnamon, 50g of cooked brown rice, 1/2 a sardine, a sprinkle of cheese, and one egg yolk. I’m just wondering if this sounds appropriate for his feedings at this age or if there’s anything you would change? thanks
  6. My 10 week old husky puppy gets hiccups every single time he eats even if it’s just a small treat when he’s good during training. He doesn’t eat overly fast or anything. I was just wondering if I should be concerned or should be doing anything else to prevent this. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  7. I recently joined this forum and it has been a lot of help so I thought I would introduce My 10 week old puppy Manuka (Nuka on occasion) On the car ride home after I picked him up, he slept nearly the whole 2 hour drive. First day home and he would only sleep with his head on his water bucket, if we moved it he got up and went right back to sleep in this position. The cute little dot on his paw, it’s slowly getting more black but I absolutely love it. His first play time with my greyhound Snakebite, this one was highly supervised with three people ready just in case. They are best friends now though. My attempt at taking a picture of Nukas parti eye. My favourite picture of Manuka at the moment, after this he came up and snuggled on my lap. [emoji7] Playtime outside, I find it hard to take pictures when we play because all my focus is on him. Born 23rd of September 2017 Adopted 15th of November 2017 He’s grown so much in the short time I’ve had him and changed from a timid little boy to a fussy, and loveable baby. 8. I’ll see if I can get some spirit sticks, I’m in Australia do a lot of the raw treats are hard to find. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  9. My puppy Manuka is currently on a balanced raw diet. I have read that kibble should not be fed while raw. But would it be ok for him to have around 10 pieces of kibble as rewards during training? If not what alternative treats would be appropriate? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  10. I’m thinking collar, but I haven’t fully decided. He’s walked on the lead in the backyard and he’s been great but I’m guessing it will be a bit different with everything new around. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  11. 12 weeks here and then it’s recommended to wait a week before going out. So only 3 weeks left to wait. He’s booked in for the 16th Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  12. He’s snoring at the minute, we just had a big play session in the backyard and he’s out cold. He’s only 10 weeks I can’t wait until he’s old enough for his next vaccine so I can take him for walks [emoji177][emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  13. Manuka mapping in his favourite corner. (He likes it because the bricks stay cold) [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  14. I’m still rotating through a bunch of different treats to see if he likes any, been through around 5 differed brands [emoji23] luckily none go to waste as my older greyhound will eat anything. I tried to make a tread introducing him but I wasn’t able to post any pictures Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  15. Just wanted to double check. Nuka turns up his nose at all dog treats I’ve tried but show him a piece of kibble and he’ll do anything lol Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  16. I’m just wondering what colour Manuka’s eye will be. His other eye is completely ice blue but this one is half brown half I’ve blue by the looks of it. Will his eye stay like this or eventually settle on one colour? He’s currently 10 weeks old. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  17. It was a lot browner when I first got him, I thought it was fully brown at first. I was expecting it to go fully brown but with time it’s getting bluer which I thought was strange. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

  19. Thank you, I’ll definitely look into getting kidneys instead of the heart, hopefully he likes them How long is generally expected for his poo to be softer due to the transition? I’m used to checking his poo already, it was horrid when I first got him and I wanted to make sure my diet was working. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app Thank you I only want him to be as as healthy as possible. I’m so glad I found this site as much of my online searching was coming up blank. 20. Oh thanks I actually didn’t realise that a heart would be a muscle meat lol what other organ would you recommend for him? If it’s okay to continue heating his meat up or should I gradually decrease the time heated as I’d planned? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  21. So I have rectified Manuka’s meals thanks to everyone’s advice. Breakfast is still the same. Lunch and dinner- 15g of minced chicken bones from the butcher, 120g of microwaved (only 1mim because he refused to eat it cold, I’m planning on reducing that slowly) beef mince, 7.5g of lamb heart, 7.5g of chicken liver, 50g of rice, an egg yolk with lunch or fish with dinner. If there is anything else I could change please let me know I only want the best for my puppy. Oh and he also has a bit of grated carrot with lunch and dinner. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners Thanks heaps for your help. Unfortunately there aren’t any companies that prepare raw near me (Australia). I have rectified Manuka’s meals. 22. What animal organ would you recommend? And would he only need it on one of his meals or a little bit in each? Would it be better to cook the organ or leave it raw? I’ve heard that at such a young age they can have some trouble digesting a lot of raw meat.
