I joined a while ago and am still trying to find my way round the forum so bear with me. Hiyah to Sarah and everyone I live in a Victorian seaside town with four dogs, 3 sibes, Saskia, Tikaani & Kodi and a border collie Merlin. We've only had Kodi for a few weeks, he was a stray, we are failed fosterers. Look forward to chatting with you and hope to recognise some of you from husky forums.

Hey all! It was nice to join these forums. People here seem very informative and warm. As a dog owner I regard myself as a beginner since Maya, my 8 week old Siberian Husky pup is my first dog. Maya absolutely loves water, meat and her Dalmation toy whose eyebrows have been cruelly plucked out by her biting! . I am a medical student in the University of Malta and will be a doctor in 3 years . . hopefully. Next September I will start taking her out for walks cos she's still getting her vaccines. Here are 2 links of Maya, a very fast learner. At 6 weeks she knew Come, Sit, Give me Paw, an Other Paw. Now at 8 weeks she knows Down as well . I…

I'm Kayla I live in PA. When my boyfriend and I got our own place we wanted to get a pet of our own. We finally argeed that we both wanted a Siberian Husky so I started looking around for a breeder in our area. I came across a breeder who had an "oops" litter as she called them. They were part Siberian Husky and part Akita. Thats when I found my Dakota. We took to each other right away love at first sight. We did have some problems in the begining because he seemed sick so I made an appointment at the vet and found out he had giardia. I was very upset that the breeder did not tell me about this and we had to fight to get her to pay his medical bill. To this day he still h…

well i have caught the bug, the sibe bug. like most other husky owners, i think my sibes are the best thing since sliced bread so we own micha who is 8-9 months old, whos is white, and we have had since she was a puppy. she has such a wonderfull character, and completley disarms any dog that comes to see her. no other dog has ever barked at her, or shown any agression. and we own saskia. who is 3 1/2 ish. she is also white, she is a very good example of well behved husky. she comes when called if you can believe that, never destroys anything again unbelievable. the only down side to her is she will try to dominate any dog that barks at her…

My name is Kimberley, I'm Canadian and I have a Siberian Husky that was being trained as my guide/service dog. Her name is Keisha and she is almost two and is really smart. Unfortunately she started having seizures last Feb. and was diagnosed with epilepsy. This meant she will no longer be able to work as my guide/service dog, but I am keeping her as a pet and she can still help with things around the house. I was training her to take over the work of my semi-retired guide dog Sophie (a yellow lab.). In Sept. I am getting my second Siberian Husky named Duke. He is the same age as Keisha and shows all the potential as a great guide/service dog candidate. My boyf…

Hey all, my name is Mike and I just joined this community of husky owners. I don't really know what to say so I guess I'll just say a bit about myself and my baby. About me: Hi, I am a 5th year senior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. I was supposed to graduate last spring in mechanical engineering, but I couldn't secure a job so I decided to stay for a minor. About my baby: My little husky's full name is Nikolai "Nico" Hernandez. He was given to me as an early graduation present back in January as an incentive to graduate. His coloring is a mix of black and white with a touch of brown. He can be a bit pesky when he wants attention, but what puppy isn't. …

Hiya 10 days ago, i rescued a siberian husky that had been chained up in a garage for at least the last 3 months... Having not had a dog for at least the last ten years (And NEVER a husky!), this is all very new to me, to say the least!! Archie is 13 months old, just beautiful, very playful and very boisterous! I don't believe he was ever walked before. At this point, i'm not sure i should keep him - not because i don't want to, but because i dont want to let him down - i want to be a good owner for him, and do him the justice he deserves. I've spent the last 10 days doing lots of research into these crazy animals, l…

Hello, I am looking forward to checking in from time to time. I have two huskies: Nikita, who is 16 and still enjoys walks twice a day, and Dakota, who is 1 (I adopted him in April) and enjoys hiking and running with me 2 or 3 times a day. The two get along wonderfully, in spite of the age difference. We live in Atlanta, GA, USA. Best wishes, Cathy
