Hi everybody - Just joined this site and the main reason was to find out if anyone knows of any dog parks local to Surrey / Sussex or even Northampton where I visit often. I have a Siberian Husky ( 1/4 White Shepherd) who is nearly 5 that I have had since 9 weeks. I have had dogs all my life, usually big breeds such as German shepherds and it was a bit of a shock to the system to have a Husky. ( Was meant for a friend but she never left my home - Lucky for me!) They are fantastic but a shame that they cannot be off the lead. Mine doent' worry livestock - she is used to horses and they like her! But she does hunt and eats FEMALE only- rabbits, birds, mice e…

Hello, my name is Anna and I'm new to the forum and husky ownership. I got 7 month Bandit a husky/collie mix about a month ago. We live in a 3 bedroom house with a big yard and my zoo of other pets ( 2 birds, 2 turtles, and a rabbit). I've owned and lived with a border collie before, who currently lives with my exboyfriend in a great home an hour away, and sometimes visits, but never a husky. Bandit is extremely energetic, sometimes stubborn, and really affectionate and playful. He's extremely social towards other people and dogs, which I really enjoy. I take photos of our adventures on playdates with other dogs, or walks along the lake or park often. I enjoy the forum at…

Hi, I came to this site because I have a 3 month old husky/rott mix and I was interested in socializing at the local husky/malamute play days here in Hawaii. My baby dog's name is Dante, he's a total sweetheart and loves our cats. They tolerate him pretty well, I think he and my boykitty Cole are becoming friends. We're starting Sirius Puppy class next week. I was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of information that I needed ( on raw diet) while browsing the forums here. I'm glad I joined and will be popping back in a bit since I've seen how friendly and helpful this group is.

Hi all, I'm a newbie on here, my name is Ian and I'm the proud owner of 2 gorgeous huskies, Simba and Maya, who are simply the center of my world. Since I got them nearly 2 years ago my life has been amazing and I could not be without then. My wife also feels the same, we've been married 5 years now but the last 2 have been our best, wonder why . We hope to emigrate to Canada sometime in the next 1-2 years and we are of course taking our babies with us. Anyway feel free to say hello, thats pretty much me in a nutshell!!

Hi All, thank you for the experience this weekend and the kind statements on the forum. I thought i'd introduce the boys a little and how we fit into their life Bandit and Storm are brothers (although they don't look like it or act like it). They selected us when they were 4 weeks old, Bandit was the puppy you're warned about having cowering in the corner and not socialising with the other puppies. Storm on the other hand was the bold one that come and battered us with his paws. We went to see the puppies for 4 weeks before we picked them up and bought them home and life hasn't been the same since. At the same time as getting the dogs Kathryn (my w…

Hi ALL, This is sort of an introduction, hope I have the right thread! I'm sort of old and disabled with a 4 month old Husky named "Spirit", he's a great little friend and is not going to be very big as far as huskies go. My wife has a AKC 7 month old Siberian husky girl named "Sapphire" and she's a good dog and half bigger than mine. Spirit is supposed to be a Siberian Husky (but he's so small still that I doubt it). He was very sick as well as young when I got him. He was just shy of 6 weeks old when I got him...I know too young...but the real circumstances prevailed. He's conquered worms and Giardia (so far) as well as a run in with a 15 year old Akita …

Hi there, My name is Jennifer and I recently rescued a Husky from Euthanasia at our local Animal Shelter. I don't know anything about Huskies and I adopted him having a family to take him too. Unfortunately the family's other dog didn't like him so he lasted a whole 2 days. He is now being fostered by my mother and I am in desperate need to re-home him. Any suggestions. I have 2 female dogs that I have rescued and fight amongst each other, so I can't bring him to my home. He's too much dog for my mother (she's 68). Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. he's a really loving dog just needs a good home that understands huskies. I spent t…

Hi, my name is Dave. I'm an old fart. Have traveled extensively during my adult years. Born and raised in eastern Iowa; and I still live in eastern Iowa, quite near the Mississippe River. I've been here for several months. I see new introduction posts from new members quite often and I always enjoy reading them. In fact, I enjoy reading many of the posts here. This is a great forum with a tremendous group of members. The one thing I never did, however, was to introduce myself, so here it goes. . . . Used to be so afraid of dogs. Neighbor had a wolf hybrid back in the late 50's that bit me when I was five, and I suppose that set the framework for my fe…

Hello, and allow me to introduce myself and my pack. First off, my name is Beth, I live in Long Island, NY and am a doggy addict. About a year ago, my boyfriend and I had both decided to take on the responsibility of not one but two dogs, a Sibe and a shiba inu (their intros will come shortly). Even though the Sibe is technically his and the shiba is technically mine, that really only applies to the bills and who holds which leash. We are both dedicated to our pups, doing what we can to make all of our lives as fun and fulfilling as possible. We have been taking both our boys (OMG, two male dogs in one household, LOL) to an obedience school ever since the…

Hi Everyone! I'm on my first venture with a Husky and I'm 3 months in. My pup Skye and I are doing great; we're running fine, playing fine and we've recently started rollerblading alright. I would love to do some authentic sleding, but I'll be around Indiana for at least another year or two - someday we'll get back to snow country! Well anyway, just wanted to say hi and thanks in advance to the community for having me. -Joe
