Introducing yourself (and using the forum in general) is actually pretty simple. But if you havent used a forum before, here is how to make your introduction to get yourself started. First scroll down the page and find the introductions section. Click on this Once you are there, you are in a the introductions 'forum' where you can see all other peoples introductions. You can click to view any of these if you like, but for now, click on "New topic" which is how you will create your own (Ignore the fact I am in the wrong forum here ) From here, creating your introduction is as easy as 1, 2, 3 post Add a title for your…

Hi and welcome to Husky-Owners! This forum was started by myself and my husband Marc in October 2008. I'd just got my first husky, Kimba and wanted to build a forum for like minded husky owners so that we could share our pictures, memories, tears and happiness and everything in between, that comes from being owned by this magnificent breed. I now have 3 gorgeous boys As this place grew, we started arranging meets in local areas which then turned into taking holidays together. We now have "Husky Camp" once a year in the UK and in Iowa in the US where we go on walks, play games, have awards, and at night when the dogs are tired we sit around a camp fire having a drink…

Our dog gets a lot of compliments because of how she looks. For some reason people say she looks like a fox, coyote or baby wolf. I had two people ask how much would it cost for her. I said I don't give family away, but my uncle loves her a lot too. While she does look like a coyote (she's not) she had a very beautiful white brother back in her sleddog facility upnorth. She's a bit smaller now, but. I don't see all the fuss, I think she's beautiful even though I know some people are scared of her at first glance since they think she is a wolf or coyote. But she's the sweetest thing, a bit stubborn although!

Hello Husky owners, my name is Czar, I currently do not own a Husky, that said, that may well change in the next two weeks give a take a day or two. A little about why I am here, two years ago I lost my 12 year life long Samoyed, I have owned a handful of Samoyed's over the years, I have done the grieving and can now find it within myself to offer another puppy or dog a forever home, whilst I wait very patiently for my next Samoyed puppy, some two to three years away, just out of curiosity I found myself looking through the dogs for rehoming on the dogsTrust website, and came across this handsome chap. Here is his dogsTrust link: https://www.dogstrust.or…

Hi there. Joined the forum just recently. I've been lurking around since September of last year because I was soon to be the owner of a very sweet Siberian Husky puppy. Got tons of helpful information from here about the breed. I didn't want to join initially as I was really only after the basics and other useful tips in how to raise my husky. I got hooked because in addition to all the expert advice I'm seeing here, I get to see pics of other people's cute fur babies. Only, my pic viewing activities was limited since it seems that only registered members got to see other members' husky photos. Hence, my decision to create an account. Since I got t…

Hello from Southern Maryland, Like I said I just adopted a giant 3 year old, 110 plus pound all white Siberian Husky male with blue eyes. I already knew that I wanted to adopt Romo from e mails and photos and they said he was large. OK.. I figured 70 maybe 75 pounds , heck my Collie Shepherd mix is 67 pounds. When I finally meet Romo in person he is 110 plus pounds, still do not know his exact weight but will this weekend when take him to vet to get up to date on all shots. I had him stand next to my neighbors 90 pound Golden Retriever and he is much much larger. Last owner got him at 8 weeks old and have paper work that both parents were Siberian Husky but no …

Hi, new to the site. This is my dog Jasmin. She's about 7 months old now. Adopted her from the shelter at 4 mo of age (owner surrender of 4 puppies. owner had both parents and said they were husky/doberman mixes). We, for fun, did the doggy DNA test, and it did show 50% husky/50% doberman. Jasmin is a lovely girl, has the doberman trot and markings but the husky ears/tail/howl and PULL! She has done well in basic obedience (other than pulling!) I think the doberman in her wants to comply, but sometimes the husky part says "uh, not right now" lol. Hope to learn alot from the forum. Especially if anyone has any ideas on not pulling on the walk.…

Hello.. I'm having a hard time bonding with our new husky. She has been with us for 6 months now. I lost my 12 year old Boxer back in October and was not handling the situation very well so I impulsively ran out and brought home our Husky (Anaya). I had been researching Husky's for the past few years because I knew eventually our aging dog wasn't going to be with us much longer, I realize that the bond I lost cannot be replaced but Husky's are so different from Boxers. I'm not sure if it's just a puppy thing and she will grow to be more affectionate, or if there is something wrong with my husky. She doesn't really care to be around anyone.. she loves to play and go f…

So I researched so much before getting my first husky in 2012 and I looked around for the best breeders because I wanted a quality siberian and I found him, he is gorgeous and such an amazing companion. I got my second husky last year and because of a twist of fate I ended up going to a breeder I found on puppy find 10 hours from me. I absolutely love my red female and she is so sweet and obviously super healthy but she didn't come from the best conditions she got neglected as a puppy with her whole litter and her dad was found to be super malnourished. She is a year and 4 months and I feel like she stopped growing at 6 months of age. She weighs more than my m…

Hello everyone, I have adopted this beautiful mix breed girl pictured below from a local shelter almost 2 years ago now. When I adopted her, I asked if they know anything more about her owners, where they found her, etc. but for some reason staff was kinda secretive and simply said they don't know anything which was kinda weird. Anyways, when I adopted her, her estimated age was around 9 months. As far as her dimensions go, she is around 26-27kg and about the size of a female husky. I was curious what kind of breeds are mixed in her. Based on her outside appearance and behavior, I assumed there is probably some German shepherd, Husky, Doberman and Labrador …

My name is Sitti. I’m new here. Also, a new owner of a 3month old husky named Pocholo. He is my first pet. I don’t know much about dogs, I did and still do a bit of research though and what ive been reading is making me terrified for years to come because people have been saying that huskies are quite much. I’ve got a few questions, 1. Is it normal that they are erect at this age? Ive noticed that whenever he is erect, he goes absolutely ballistic. Biting things around the house, jumping up and down. Absolutely driving the family crazy. Any tips that can help? 2. When is the best time to get him trained? 3. How many times in a day should he exercise and ho…

NOTE: In the beggining, first few pictures and part of the post, is almost one year old , I'll copy paste it, so I won't have to rewrite it again Me and my Conan are new here. I think this forum is amazing, I'm reading it over a year now, when I finally got my first husky I decided to register. Conan. In Celtic origin meaning "little wolf" and in the form conan means “”little warrior.” That's what he is, wolf by soul, warrior by nature. Dream catcher because he caught my dreams. Ever since my samoyed Nala died I wanted a siberian. She was my first dog and she passed away almost 2 years ago. I always admired northern breed…

Hi, I have a 4month old sibe puppy. He easily gets tired after running for few minutes. I can also walk and run with him off leash. After reading about Siberian huskies, I found out that walking this kind off leash is almost impossible. I'm thinking maybe he is not pure. Is it normal for Siberian puppies to easily get tired? Thank you.

Hi there, thought that I would join this forum, as I have noticed comments made about our kennels (siberpaws) At present, I have six adult sibes and twelve puppies in the nursery. The adults are Ivan, Myah, Holly, Zoe, Misty and Ruby. I also have a neutered Gsd, I say that he is neutered as I do not want people to think I am cross breeding my dogs. Before I started with sibes (7 years ago) both my wife and I have had the privilege to breed separately St Bernards and staffies. When we got together we decided to go for a different breed, after alot of research and meeting breeders we opted for sibes. Some people out there seem to be passing comments about u…

I have had Peanut, the Husky, since April 21st. He was born on the 4th of March. I am thrilled to have him as a pet and a friend. I havent every owned a husky nor a puppy so I am very green to this. My roommate has Peanut's brother, Bandit. They have been together since birth and they love playing with each other all the time. I dont know how to house train them or much like that. I only know how to tell them know when they do it. It seems to work a little bit but now they act like they are "digging" in their water bowl and getting the kitchen soaked. I am currently building a 6' fence for my back yard so they can have alot of room to play while I am…

I am getting him from a breeder in MN and I am a bit concerned as I read some things about her on the internet. Has anyone gotten a puppy from a MN breeder?
