Introducing yourself (and using the forum in general) is actually pretty simple. But if you havent used a forum before, here is how to make your introduction to get yourself started. First scroll down the page and find the introductions section. Click on this Once you are there, you are in a the introductions 'forum' where you can see all other peoples introductions. You can click to view any of these if you like, but for now, click on "New topic" which is how you will create your own (Ignore the fact I am in the wrong forum here ) From here, creating your introduction is as easy as 1, 2, 3 post Add a title for your…

Hi and welcome to Husky-Owners! This forum was started by myself and my husband Marc in October 2008. I'd just got my first husky, Kimba and wanted to build a forum for like minded husky owners so that we could share our pictures, memories, tears and happiness and everything in between, that comes from being owned by this magnificent breed. I now have 3 gorgeous boys As this place grew, we started arranging meets in local areas which then turned into taking holidays together. We now have "Husky Camp" once a year in the UK and in Iowa in the US where we go on walks, play games, have awards, and at night when the dogs are tired we sit around a camp fire having a drink…

Hi everyone, We brought Mitch home on 4th March when he was 4 months. He is doing great in some areas and not so great in others. He is our first dog and everyone says we shouldn't have a Husky first but when you fall for him what can you do. We are hoping he is just having a few new pup issues, he is already fixated on our son and is weary of everyone else in the house. His feeding is a little hit and miss we're doing 3 meals a day and he's not always that interested. But that might be as he does quite well on the (healthy) treats front. He's not done a numbers 2 today but I'm wondering if that is because they were a bit runny yesterday sometime…

Hi all! I think I'm doing the introduction in the right place. The mobile menus look quite a bit different than Marc's desktop photos. I've had huskies for 10 years now and I love them! Came across this forum while looking for some specific info and decided to join up 🙂 I currently have 3 red huskies. One of each coat type, ironically they are family. I have a standard, wooly, and the in between, sometimes referred to as plush. Mom is the plush, daughter is standard, son is wooly. However, the wooly still has the course guard hairs as well as the undercoat, but his hair is just 4in long. So I'm honestly not sure if he's technically a "wooly" snow does not s…

Hello all, I haven’t been on here in forever but thought I would give everyone an update. I’ve been a member since I got my first husky in 2012. After the loss of two of my three huskies over the last two years I have made the decision to adopt a new puppy! He came from the same rescue organization as Kodiak (who passed away in March). Meet Denali! He’s about 3-4 months old so I’m working on potty and crate training. I’ve forgotten how tough it is!!

Hello from Southern Maryland, Like I said I just adopted a giant 3 year old, 110 plus pound all white Siberian Husky male with blue eyes. I already knew that I wanted to adopt Romo from e mails and photos and they said he was large. OK.. I figured 70 maybe 75 pounds , heck my Collie Shepherd mix is 67 pounds. When I finally meet Romo in person he is 110 plus pounds, still do not know his exact weight but will this weekend when take him to vet to get up to date on all shots. I had him stand next to my neighbors 90 pound Golden Retriever and he is much much larger. Last owner got him at 8 weeks old and have paper work that both parents were Siberian Husky but no …

Hiya everyone !! I'm Wrench, a newbie owner of two 6-month-old huskies called Bolt (white) and Freddy (grey). Huskies have been my favourite breed since I was a kid, but I never thought I'd be lucky enough to own one, let alone two. We got Bolt back in October, didn't plan on getting another as we already have two other dogs and two cats but an opportunity fell into our hands last week and now we have Freddy!

Hello All We have recently adopted a dog advertised as a mixed bread but as he gets older (5 months old now) he definitely looks like an Isabella Husky. He is our 4th dog and a has a mind of his own (which I love) but we are finding somethings are challenging such as potty training. Are these dogs easy to potty train or are they stubborn learners, a little insight would be nice. Other than the potty training and still mouthing a bit he is a quick learner and a lot of fun around the house. Thanks

Hi I am a newbie Husky owner. 9 week old Belle I did tons of research but it seems nothing can prepare you for the learning to settle them at night. Only had my puppy Belle since Saturday and she just doesn't want to sleep, let alone in her crate. Any tips would be grateful. I was also told that she had been wormed and was pad trained, yet we have had to worm her after she vomited a roundworm and she is using my laminate floor as a toilet so tomorrow moving to the outdoor toilet training in my garden. With the worming I had to have a vet call as her abdomen has become distended and swollen. Thankfully I've been assured it's normal with the amount of …

My husky has skin issues year round. I have been to 3 different vets, one an allergy specialist. 2 rounds of allergy tests...My husky is 7 years old and we have been dealing with this for 6 years... 2 different rounds of injectable serums, antibiotics, thyroid meds, cytapoint injections and NOTHING has worked.I am at my wits end. Thousands of dollars, years of discomfort for my dog and no resolution to his issues....HELP! His skin gets crusty and he chews at it to the point of bleeding. It usually starts on his belly and arm pits....and has spread to his back and tail. I bath him in a shampoo specifically for skin issues...Even that only helps for a day or 2....and he…

Just figured I would introduce myself, I'm Steph. I've been enjoying the forum. I live on the Oregon Coast with my husky Viv, hound mix Josie along with my husband and children. We were out shopping for school supplies last summer and we saw a sign that said "husky puppies for sale." We were not in the market for a puppy, but that sign made all of us lose our minds. And now, we are a husky owning and loving family. My life was getting really quiet with my kids going back to school so a husky puppy jolted some energy into my life. I've never had a dog like her, my hound is so sweet and loyal, but Viv is really clever, she seems to really understand me. Huskies are amazing.

Hey, all, I came across this forum and its wealth of information while searching for general info on Sibes, which is apparently what I have! 😁 While her breed is mixed, her personality is 100% Sibe, from what I've read. And I'm exhausted! 😆 Anyway, happy to have found this forum, and curious to hear guesses/opinions re: her breed mix (I'm doing a DNA test, but that will take some time). Meet Gemma!

I lost my beautiful female 14 year old Alaskan Malamute April 7. I asked her after she passed if she wants me to have someone else to send it to me. On April 19 I met a person who had a Siberian Husky who the previous owner let the brother and sister play in the street, they are three months old. The person who sold her to me ended up buying the brother and sister, I bought the sister because I cannot handle having a black and white Husky because my Alaskan Malamute was that color and I just cannot. I have had her know for two days and at first she cowered when I went to pet her and whined all night in her crate. After two days she is doing pretty good, she is my onl…

Hello. I just joined this site recently and wanted to say hi. Huskies are the most wonderful dogs. I just adopted my second one after having my first put down due to illness. My introduction to the breed was through a friend who had 6 at the time. I started by adopting a husky/German Shepherd mix who was found as a stray. A year or so later I adopted a full husky from champion bloodlines and I couldn't have been happier. Unfortunately, he developed cancer in his nasal passages after I had him for about 4 years and had to be euthanized. A friend of mine, who used to breed huskies, had a dog who needed a home. He had been mistreated in …

Hello! I am Tobias, and about a year ago I took in a seven month old pitbull-husky mix, Lilypad, from a fosterer who could no longer handle her. She is now a wonderful seventeen month old dog who has been excelling in service training as a deaf alert dog. Her recall is something to laugh at, but she does consistently do alerts for my disability and I've had SO much fun working with her because of her quirks. My future plans for Lilypad include Canicross and distance hiking (Appalachian Trail, most likely), but I need a bit more time for her to grow and then time to condition her. I lost my last canicross dog to old age just two weeks after adopting her, so she has …

Hello! 🐾 I am new to the site and a new Husky Mama. Our pup turns 5 months old on 12/8. Any tips for raising this wild pup are appreciated! I have had a slew of other dogs, mastiff mixes, pure bred rotties and German shepherds, and currently our Husky has a Pitbull Mix older sister. I’ve attached a pic of our smiling pup!
