Well , couldn't wait to get home last night to check out the brush bow that my dad had fabricated for Logan's scooter. The scooter itself is not a great scooter but for under £60 i thought it would do as a starter scooter until i'm in a position to buy a better one. The scooter was purchased from ebay (good old ebay) and i have made a few modifications to it since purchase ( new handlebar grips, twin water bottles, cycle computer to monitor speed and distance), but the one thing i really needed was a brush bow . I had contacted Chris at Dax scooters to see if they had any spare brush bows around his workshop , then my dad g…

We just got our Sibe this past Saturday. He (Jonathan) is 2.5 months old. We read about using a 'pee towel' to help him get the urge when outside. So far, so good. We're still working on getting him to learn peeing inside is bad. How can we get him to understand, we want him to poop? I have a few more questions I'll ask later, I have to run right now. Thanks in advance.

so Embry has started these separation problems after about 3 months old. I can't leave him alone EVER without him freaking out, unless he's reallly tired which is why i bring him to the dog park everyday before i go to work so it'll be easier. my dog trainer told me it was my fault because i get excited when i start to leave? which is not true, i've stopped making eye contact with him about 10 minutes before i leave since apparently that helps, which is doesn't. i can't even go to the bathroom/take a shower without him laying on the bathroom floor while i do so. It's getting kind of ridiculous. My trainer also told me to buy him a few toys, preferably kong toys, which i d…

Hello all! This is my first post, and I appologize if some of these issues are things that I'm sure have been addressed by previous writers. (But it would take me all night to sort through all the threads to find any answers to my questions!) So I appreciate your patience. First a little background. I'll be breif...Juno is my 2 year old male Husky. My husband and I got him from the Humaine Society about a year ago and immediately fell in love. Juno is sweet, affectionate, playful, and has a VERY good heart. But he has some issues that we haven't been able to really fix. Problem #1: Digging. When we first got Juno we decided to keep him in our fence…

lol yesterday whilst in a pet shop i bought a silent whistle, just one of them silly things you do. Dave thought i was crazy as they don't really work, well sat at my desk i opened it, blew it and wow Odin yes Odin came straight to me. well thinking this was just a one off as Odin's so stuborn he never comes, i left it for a few hours then did again and all three came to me. Is loving this but NO this is not going to last, last thing at nite we can not get Odin in without giving him cheese, so last nite Dave took the whistle and guess what, no cheese needed they all came in even Odin. Going to try this out on the field today whi…

I have never had much trouble with getting my dogs to heel before but Tank is giving me a bit of trouble. This is the one skill he is just not doing for me and I can tell you honestly that if we dont get this down he will likely make me an armless mom, lmao. I have tried everything i know, but nothing has worked for very long. Hes good for a few minutes of every walk then bam some dog and owner pass by and he goes rotten and starts pulling again. Any creative or very successful ideas to help get him Heeling so i can keep my arms?? Please any advice is welcome.

So whenever Embry gets excited, example me getting home from work. He runs over to me, extremely excited, and will either bite my jacket sleeve and try to get me to take it off, then he will put my arm in his mouth, but he doesn't bite down, its quite odd. He does it to pretty much everyone who gets down to eye level with him and pets him. He does it when I babysit my 9 year old sister, he gets super excited to see her and tries to put her arm in his mouth, but she's scared he'll bite her. I'm just not really sure what to do about it since he isn't really hurting anyone, I just get worried about him doing it to kids. I've tried ignoring him, moving my arm, turning my back…

Hi there Just got logans manmat x-back harness from snow paws. Measured him as per instructions on their website and bought a medium harness based on his neck measurement of 22 inches . However when i put the harness on him last night it looks way to small at the back . the neck seems to fit fine as i can get two fingers between the harness and him, however it looks to me like it is too short at the back. Any comments and advice would be much appreciated as this is the first x-back harness i have bought and am no expert. Please see photo below cheers Adjam

Hello everyone, My name is Mary Ann and I'm new to the forums. I have a 7mth old female named Nala. We have come a long way since I got her at 8weeks old. I've taken her to puppy training and overall it went well. My issue, which really has always been one is the whining and crying to get to people on our walks or coming in and out of my apartment. I've tried it all! short lease, short pulls on the leash...sigh.. i mean everything. Its so bad that she cries so loud that ppl thinking im hurting her.. thats how bad it is. Its like she is in pain! Last night this poor woman got jumped and Nala pulled so hard that i lost control of the leas…

So Pongo is now 11 months old and will be one year May 20th. He is still jumping up on walks for absolutely no reason and it's getting worse. He actually bit my husband when he told him to lay down. Now, we are in training right now and he is a class A student during class, but at home it's a different story now. I have discussed this recent bad behavior with our trainer and she said not to back down and keep trying until you get him to lay down. Problem is, he just doesn't want to listen when he starts this. Yesterday on our walk, we stopped about 7 times because he started jumping up, biting the leash and tangling himself up in it. We practice his obedience training eve…

hey, hope this might be of use to some other owners. So, I hear alot of people saying you should never let your dog growl/snarl/put its hackels up at you, another person or another animal because it is showing "dominance" or bad behaviour... This is a load of rubbish. It is SO SO important to let your dog express itself and understand what it is trying to say. The result of not allowing dogs to show these behaviours means you have a dog that lashes out because it is given no other option. What they mean: Growling - A growl generally means I do not like what you are doing. It can be caused by a number of th…

Ok so it looks like the forestry commission may be putting a stop to people training in the forest which then make our next nearest forest would be the New Forest which, depending where they will allow us to mean a longer journey and the possibility that we would have to wait even longer to get a permit as I would think people from Hampshire and Wiltshire would also apply for permits there too. I was wondering if anyone knows anywhere that would allow us to train without a permit and with just public liability insurance?

We have had the problem of pulling since our little girl got familiar with the neighbourhood. From the beginning we NEVER allowed her to pull. We always stopped and when the leash was again loose we started again walking. We have been doing this for the first month, but the problem isn't really solved. So, now we are a bit changing tactic. We don't stop, we change direction. We also got a clicker, so every time she follows us we click and give a treat. We also practice home. At home she really fallows me everywhere (also in the bathrooms - which are narrow and dark... not a funny place for her ). Basically we are doing how this guy says in this v…

Ok so i go downstairs this morning and let my babies out to go to the toilet. They stay in their crates overnight as we are in a temporary house situation (don't ask!). Aiyana is now 15 weeks and she is getting on well with her toilet trainig with of course the odd accident. So i let her out & watch her have a number 1 & 2 so pleased she has managed to hold it overnight Then they come back inside & I feed them in their crates while i go upstairs and get ready for work. By the time i come back downstairs, approx half hr later, she has eaten her breakfast and done a number 2 in her cage plus what looked like a little wee So I then have …

we tried sisko in lead alone tonight whilst training & put kavik behind her on staggered line & she did really well, no messing about or sniffing the ground , just ran. so pleased with her as last few times we tried her she just messed around & played but was a bit younger then. kavik not impressed @ being put behind as he loves to lead all the time.
