I would love a little bit more information from those who have trained their/owners dogs in sled racing. At the moment we have been using these commands, They have picked them up but sometimes don't follow them which is fine since they're learning! We have Left, right, on by, leave and woah, Please keep in mind these are our club commands! The way i have been training them is i have them on leash and have them next to me (on the left) i walk and to turn left i say "left" then say "left left" and turn and when they turn they get phrased, same with right... On by i have a T section or a corner .. and walk them past them and say "on by" with …

Hi i am having big probs with stevo pulling while walking, he is better on halti but he really hates it so would like to be able to walk on just a collar and lead! I have tried a lot but he is getting his strength now and pulls like a steam train, not making walks enjoyable at all i now have blisters on my hand from holding his lead! At mo he is on retractable as he is a bit easier slightly in front of me as he spreads his front legs to pull away when he is beside me!!! Thinking of calling a trainer to help, just wondered if you guys have any ideas or experiances??????

Hi everyone! i'm pretty new att his site but I truely need some help, My husky is almost 2 years old, he is a very nice husky, and very loving, I have trained him to do a lot of tricks but bahaving is a whole different story. When company comes over, he jumps on them, I put him on a leash now because he jumps and now he just barks. Achmed also has a problem with just barking. He will follow me around the house barking, almost like he is arguing with me, I take him out for a walk, to go potty, he has food and water in his bowls and still he barks. him jumping on people is actually less of an issue than the barking. I have run out of ideas to make him stop. Someone suggeste…

Hi All, I'm Chris and I wanted to introduce you all to my scooter design, the Dax-scooter. I have seen a few comments about my scooters and scootering in general and as an enthusiastic advocate for dog scootering I thought I'd share some info with you about our product and some images of my dog team and the fun you can have with scooters. daxâ€â€scooter - is a new phenomenon that has arisen from a keen interest in exercising and having fun withenergetic dogs. Sleddog racing is a growing sport globally, but the size of many ‘Sled-dog Rigs'can cause problems for storage and transportation. To combat these issues and to open the sport u…

I have 2 Huskies who I would like to get started on scootering with. The only problem is, I know little about what I need in order to get started. What would be the best way for a beginner to go about getting started? What all will I need in order to get started? This is what I know I need: Scooter (obviously) 2 harnesses (1 for each dog) What I think I need or might need but dont know the proper things for: Something to attach the 2 harnesses together so the dogs go in the same direction. Foot protection for their paws so they dont get ripped up. So my last question would be, where do I get all of these th…

hi, I'm new to this forum. I have one Sibe, he's 6 months and we haven't had him for a week yet. He's called Henry. We've rehomed him and because his last family never disciplined him as a pup, he doesn't know that biting is wrong. We have tried a few of the methods but none seem to be effective, he just keeps doing it until he gets bored. We've tried giving him a toy, holding his mouth shut, tapping him on the nose. Loudly saying 'No' and yelping and turning away. We absolutely adore him, but, if we can't solve this issue then we will have to rehome him. Thank you!

Just wondering as Eika is a nightmare at pulling....well not complete nightmare to be honest she's better than some i think, but i guess anything that can help, right?!

It's been quite a while, so I thought I would give you guys an update on Kira. She just turned 1 on July 21st. (She had a great birthday by the way, Daddy made her a special dinner, and I made her a doggy-friendly cake) Anyways, the update. You wouldn't believe she's the same husky! She's an angel! After confining her to one specific area so we could keep tabs on her at all times she: -has had only one or two accidents (as opposed to constantly going on the floor) -no longer shows any signs of aggression. -plays with my mom's little cockapoo Priscilla JUST fine, totally loves her and even shares with her…

Well over the past two days Bailey has been "attacked" by two different dogs. Each time he has been given a warning by the dog (growl) and yet he continues to either play or sniff in places the other dogs don't want him to. He is still intact, is this the issue?? OR Does he like the fact that he is pissing off the dog to the point that he gets snapped at etc... ?? Any help would be appreciated as I am worried that one day he is going to get seriously hurt. Thanks. Daren

I wanted to share my recent purchase and how it has helped me train with my 15 month old sib. We used to use a retractable lead all the time when he was younger and had less strength. Now; however, I find it hard to use cause I can't grip it very well and the handle can be awkward to hold if he starts pulling (it's not the best obedience tool). So I normally would use a 6 ft nylon lead on our walks. Pro: It kept him near me and gave me more control. Con: He didn't get the length/freedom of a longer leash. To attain what I wanted from both type of leads, I decided to purchase a 15 foot nylon training lead. Although it does not…
