OMG Skye has chipped a lower canine tooth God knows how or even when!! I noticed a brown spot on the side of her lower canine yesterday. I have taken her to the vet who want's to x-ray her on friday and needs to sedate her to do this. I have insisted that they weigh her first to use the right amount sedation. He said he needs to check that the tooth isn't cracked further down. He also gave me RIMADYL, (anti-inflamatory), but I googled that, and I dont want to give her that because of tha scare stories. I am so worried Does anyone have any previous experiences to help settle my nerves

Have found this website and thought i'd share .... have just placed my first order so will let you know what my boys think of the pigs trotters i've ordered along with other itesm ... they've not had pigs feet before so might be interesting lol If you order bear in mind shipping is 6.00 so won't be worth while unless buying a fair bit, prices however are cheaper for the items than i've seen in other places though http://www.food4-dogs.co.uk/

I went to my mum and dads today with my dads fathers day presents and my boys were running around in the back garden. I've noticed that Kasier has a war wound - it looks like Kimba has caught him with his teeth - my poor boy :(

I had Micha and Daisy's yearly check up this afternoon, I was quite excited about it as I got a very reputable holistic vet to come and visit us at our house to do the consult. She spent more than an hour here with the dogs examining them and talking to me about any concerns I had, as well as talking about the raw diet I feed and our options when it comes to vaccinating. She examined the diet I feed and gave me some feedback (all positive, she gave me some ideas about what I could do to get the dogs to eat more offal as they aren't keen on it etc). As I suspected Micha has early arthritis in his back end :icon9: He's only seven years old so it's not …

I am sure there is a thread about this somewhere. I am not sure where to look but how do I teach Abu to walk behind me and not tug. How to stop when I do and sit before crossing the road. All those things it seems impossible.

soooo im curious as to how much food is bad for my boy? i tend to give him the last bite (i try and keep it to about the size of a dime maybe a nickle) of what ever im eating. ive read to stay away from onions and fatty foods ect but im wondering is it bad to give him such a small amount if it doesnt contain those kinds of food? he probably gets like 3 or 4 bites a day so i figured it wasnt too bad. my wife keeps telling me its bad for him so im curious?

I have heard that huskies often clean themselves. She seems to chew at herself a lot. Not constantly, but quite frequently. Her paws, her tail, her bum, and her private area. I dont notice any inflamed red skin.. Since i got her i gave her a bath and groomed a TON of fur out of her. It looked like she was finishing up blowing her coat. So i figured, being dirty, full of dead hair can be pretty itchy. After her bath she is itching a lot less and chewing less. But she still is through out the day. I have a free vet visit from the shelter, so i'll be taking her in for a check up next week, but i'm just curious if this is…

For those that dont know. Got my first husky. Was going to give her the 1st meal. She was soooo excited. After i made her sit and relax, i gave her the food..... she just sniffed it and looked at me like "yeah right" So ok, fine. Later tonight I tried it again. At the advice of my husband I opened a capsule of FIsh Oil and dribbled it over the kibble. I gave that to her and she proceeded to lick off the oil from each individual piece of kibble. Then she accidently bit into one and decided... hm.. not so bad. Then she ate ALL her food.... piece by piece.. one at a time.. LOL Funniest thing i've ever seen. …

First of all hello , this is my first post on this site and here is a quick intro. I have a 5 month old husky named Sasha and she is a bit of a hand full to say the least. I love her to death but at time when I am trying to play with her or simply scratch and pet her she gets very aggressive and start nipping and biting my hands. It has gotten to the point where I am losing interest in playing with her because she almost always bites. I am not going to give up on her but I feel like I cannot let my kids run around with her outside because she might nip and bite at them also. Any tips on what I can do to stop this? Thanks in avance.

hello there right akira is nearly 6 months old and has always had the pet plan food as thats what the breeder gave her and she said its th best food for huskys, which i now know was just her opinion but you follow her advice dont you well the thing is we went to a friends house a few days ago and akira managed to get to there dogs food which was pets at homes own puppy food now she wont eat her own food and i think its because she has had some othr food that does look nicer than hers and has extra bits in, even i think it looks nicer i looked on the ingrediants and other stuff and it says its roughly the same as the other stuff …

right we have had rent a vet, and the kellog vet, im beginning to loose hope of finding a decent vet, so if you think your vet is ok and would reccomend them , post them on here, so other owners can see if there are any decent vets in their area, id even be willing to travel for a good vet, im looking for good opening hours, an emergency vet for out of hours calls(with last vet was expected to travel to stoke out of hours ), clean premises, friendly staff, who dont mind listeneing to over anxious owners waffle on lol, reasonable rates, and accepts the barf diet(they may not have to like it but accept it would be a start), and doesnt want to over vaccinate , so rate your v…

Hi All, Silly question. Finn gets little blisters or pimples on her tummy. She's had probably 6 or 7 of them in the last month or so. I don't know whether this is something I should worry about, and take her to the vet, or if it's because she's had a few treats (veggies etc) that were outside of her normal diet. They don't seem to bother her, but usually she will be acting like the rest of her is itchy on the same days she gets them, which makes me wonder if it's just a sensitivity to something in the kibble she's having. What do y'all think? Thanks much!

Just have to share my experience of yesterday. Had a one - on - one with my dog trainer last week and she re-affirmed her opinion that I would be OK letting Blizzard off the lead provided I kept an eye out for all usual 'hazards'. Anyway....... I was walking in the local nature reserve, Healy Dell, yesterday and thought 'what the hell' and slipped Blizzy off his lead. He was absolutely fab, running about like a mad thing but never more than about 40' away from me and coming back every now and then to make sure I was still interested.... Also called him close a few times to give him a bit of cheese (his fave) and also…

Read a little and also heard that larger dogs benefit from having their food slightly elevated to make food consumption easier. Makes logical sense to me so, had a mess around in the workshop and came up with this: Just MDF but seem Ok to me. Comments wlecome??????
