My mum got a new pup on wednesday for her birthday. Im more of a big dog person myself.. but this one has an exeption. Eboni is abit unsure at the moment, slowly getting used to her I think but some times doesn't realise how big she is compared to her. Eb will always be top dog in my family and will never be pushed aside for the new comer! Meet 'Honey' the tiny 8 week old ShihTzu Chihuahua mix

My sister's cat Whiskers has gone missing in the Abington area of Northampton...he didn't come home last night, which is really unlike him...here is a picture of him (my niece who is squashing him is beside herself) - gonna have to upload it first...one sec. He is tabby and has HUGE amber eyes and a slight squashed face lol! He is really friendly to everyone...i think he's quite chubby to, but it could just be the breed, don't know what it is! ETA: He's a British Shorthair brown tabby...

i cant believe what i heard today when i got in, well my sisters puppy staff jumped off the sofa, but landed with her leg under her and her head kept going, well we took her to the vets, they immediately took her for x ray and  said when he fell she had crushed her elbow. we then asked what could be done, the vet send she is going to need a big operation to fix it, but they said it was going to cost £3000. here's the sad bit, because my sister is unable to pay the huge costs the vet said the only option was to sign her over to the vets and they will do the operation but then they will have to sell her. …

Hi everyone. We have a 4 year old springer spaniel that keeps pee'ing everywhere and we can't seem to stop it. We also have Suka whose the same age, and both have been brought up the same and treated the same since we got them when they were around 10 weeks old. Both dogs get on together really well and where one goes the other goes which makes the problem worse. Suka is able to open doors, i.e my bedroom door, to then goto sleep on my bed. This is ok, but the spaniel follows and then pee's everywhere, over the blankets, pillows, where it takes root, it pee's. When the husky needs a wee, it'll go downstairs, open the back do…

My parents in laws dog, Goldie (she's a whippet) is really old and she broke her back leg tonight, quite high up and instead of pinning it and doing lots of rehabilitation, which would take months and cause her a lot of pain, they are amputating it tomorrow. We are all really worried about her as she obviously has to go under anesthetic and stuff. Like i said she is old but she is quite spritely and we're really hoping that she pulls through the anesthetic, we're sure she'll be fine with only 3 legs....oh poor baby. Can you all keep your fingers crossed tomorrow please? She is at the vets tonight and she is in very good hands, the nurse who's with her is the b…

To be honest Im feeling a bit heated, but this is an honest question. I realize that we are husy (and aparently huskamute, lol) people here but im sure there is at least one person who might know something. I was on one of our local free ads sites today (kijiji) and looked at an ad that someone posted about "shorties" shorter pitbulls. It says they are rare and blah blah blah, then says they want $3,500.00 per pup! Is this really a rare type of pitbull or is it a new fad? it seems its gotta be some sort of new fad/rip off, and with the sheer number of pitbulls on the islands it just makes me curious if its some get…

Hello, Got a question on breathing, Rosie seems to have trouble breathing. When she gets excited, eats and even for no reason when she is standing still. I've seen it alot in small dogs where they have a problem with the soft pallet but not in large breed dogs. She does the whole snorting thing and trys to breathe quickly. Anyone had this in large breed dogs before?

hello! I have a 18-19ish week od rotti bitch called Rosie. Shes a rescue, one of 13 pups, taken off mum at 6 weeks then seperated. So she had very poor dog skills when she came to me at 14 weeks. She is much better with dogs but i had a few questions for those experienced rotti people. Ive had 2 rottis before and a rotti xgsd, but they have all been adults (well one was 10 months) so, rotties are stuborn, pushy, hard headed...and absolutley great! love them! what i'd like to know is, what is rotti behaviour and what is worried rotti pup thats not been socilised before...she does have some fear of people and gets spooked easily when out walking. …

Since I keep tropical fish and have been doing for a few years, I have picked up some good pointers (mainly from my cousin who breeds different kinds) on how best to look after your tank and keep it in tip top shape. So as we have this forum now for other animals I thought it would be nice to share some of the things that should be done with them to keep them nicely. Waterchanges This is bar far the most important part of looking after your aquarium. A 10-25% water change (I usually do 25% each time) should be done each and every week, followed by something along the lines of TapSafe treatment or another dechlorinator. This will remove harmfull crap …

A very happy 3rd Gotcha day to my likkle Barry boy. Came to us as a week old orphan and Noushka fed him and mothered him (still does:lol:). It is amazing, cannot believe that it's been 3 years since we had likkle puppies running around our bedroom (and kicking us out of it). Well, thank you Barry and Happy Gotcha Day...
