After researching huskies for the past six months I have had a small change of heart. I love the breed for their energy and personalities and while I can commit to giving the amount of time they need right now, 5-6 years from now when I have kids and its -19 C out I'm not sure if I could give the dog the exercise it requires to be happy and healthy, and that just isn't fair. When I am older, and have older kids that can share responsibilities it will be different and I will finally get my husky furbaby that I have always wanted. But for now I am going to go back to a breed from my childhood, a yellow labrador. My link I'm really hoping we ca…

i've had loads of pet rats over the years, had 3 females that had about 36 babies between them once, owned about 8 rats at once when i lived in derby, owned 6 rats at once here a few years ago. so now i think im going to get another one, they make great pets. Almost like little dogs if you bond with them, i.e - come when called, lick you etc, generally just sweet little animals. Had one called Lulu a few years back, and she was amazing, so sweet, loved me more than her own babies, so was a bad mother, but she was so people orientated. I'm looking for another Lulu, she was Agouti with Dumbo ears. XXX anybody know much about rats, or had them before?…

Some of you may have caught on that I study wildlife biology/ecology. My main emphasis is on crayfish. I have been breeding and keeping dozens of species since I was a kid. Here are a few videos of some of my crayfish: s-JXbFDikLU 7irhwCeGB1k QYTB32mqLJg FLSk2TQbo08

Well I don't have a husky yet, but I do have other fur and feather babies His full name is: Mischiefio Alfonsio Edwardio Magnifico Atherley-Galloway but we call him Mischief or Pesticus for short I was wondering if there are any husky/ ferret owners on the forum that would have any tips or tricks to ensure that nothing goes wrong when we get our husky. Mischief is our baby and my boyfriend and myself would be devastated if anything were to happen to him. Griffin is my seven year old lovebird<3 I've had him since he was six weeks old and when I first brought him home got to hand feed him He i…

We have two tropical tanks and we have 2 pleco in each tank. Our 2 pleco'sin one tank are feeding well and has an algae wafer each aswell. However our other 2 pleco aren't feeding at all, it isnt feeding on algae wafers or any of the algae in the tank! It hasnt fed for over a week now and was wondering if anyone here nows of any causes that could stop a pleco from eating. I've done all the water tests possible and all is clear and level. Also they are all still young and small (for a pleco!) and the two plecs that are eating still are growing well but the ones that are not eating don't seem to have grown since we have had them

It wasn't really a plan to crate train Whisper but he started to go into Zihna's crate on his own and seemed to like it. So I got him one of those pop up foldable crates. I did a couple of treat sessions to have him go in by himself and gave him a Kong with yummy stuff each time he went in by himself today. The crate got here this afternoon and by 11pm he went in and got comfy and went to sleep in it. I would have NEVER thought that he would ever get into a crate voluntarily. I used to have a dog house for him when he was little and it was a total waste of money. So now that they are not allowed on the couch anymore each one of them has their own little chill …

My cat Bella is nearly 6 and has always been fit and healthy just noticed she is kinda sneezing a lot - have a look at this vid - about 16 seconds, she sneezes and licks her mouth a lot..... she's doing this about 8 / 9 times so far since this afternoon Her eyes are healthy and she's not weeping from her nose, eyes or drooling from her mouth. I've looked in her mouth and it seems fine, no swelling or redness her teeth are perfect and white, no smell or anything. She's eating and drinking like normal but wants cuddles - now anyone that's met bella will tell you she is NOT a cuddly cat lol Anyone got any ideas what's wrong with her until I can get h…

Hey everyone, Wondering if you all could give me a little bit of advice. A friend of mine is looking to get a new dog. He has not had one for a while now , so obviously he needs to get back into touch with his doggy side before getting one and research, but at the same time, he should probs get a breed that isn't so intense? I'm trying to be as helpful as possible with any questions he has on breeds, but i'm not the best with breeds. So, from everyones personal experience from being around, or having different dog breeds other than husks, please feel free to offer up some helpful words! He's a surfer, so wants something that will enjoy the beach a…

I entrigued to know how old a dog needs to be to register a litter, is their a set age with the kennel club? Ive tried looking on the wesite. The reason i ask is i know a lady ( better know as the **** to me ) who has a dog the same age as 1 of mine. Mabey a little younger. Skye is only 7 months old. Now this woman's pup has come into season and shes already trying to breed her with her stud dog! CRAZY ***** if u ask me. I know shes only doing it for the money. As her dogs are pure bred and have excellent pedigrees! She cant wait for the puppys! Its rediculous. I have reported her to the RSPCA recently and they have said they will call round and take th…

My boy Kayko's best buddy is Trevor, the poodle. Seriously. We meet Trevor up at the baseball field on a regular basis to raise hell and run all over the place. I had a close look at Trevor the other day - he's a big-boned, strong dog with jaws like a jaguar. It pains me that handlers and breeders would grow a poodle's hair nearly a meter long - in some places - and keep the poor thing on the grooming table so long that they have to be sedated. But "that's show business", I guess. Trevor, though, loves to chest wrestle, growl, chase to intercept & take down and generally run with the gang. Good Husky stuff. His Mum keeps his hair short. Sure, it has to be c…

Today I was at my aunt's house who has a black labrador named "Bodie". He's a tornado, always wants to play! Which can be somewhat annoying when you don't want to. Ignoring him takes a while for him to understand! Anyway, my aunt said to me "Bodie is shedding right now. There is hair everywhere, I hope you don't mind". Man, if the huskies would shed like that I would've been afraid they have glue in their coat! Even in non-shedding seasons they shed more than Bodie does right now. I mean, I could actually COUNT the hairs on my T-shirt. How the hell could you call that SHEDDING?

We lost one of our girl dragons while we were on hloiday, she had been ill for a while, so it was no great surprise, but then out of the blue, our male beardie, Bob, passed away too. He was an adult when I got him & I've had him about 5 yrs. We were left with just the one girl ... then I saw a plea to rehome bearded dragons & the place was a 5 min drive from ours .... I kept dropping BIG hints to Steve & finally Tripod came home to me yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you see why I call him Tripod?? He (we think he's a he!) is around 5 months old !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
