Hi guys, Though this would make a good topic because its a question Im asked quite a lot, as Im sure others of you will find who can already program. The question is "How do I learn to program?". So here is a few pointers on how to get started if you want to do so, and a few questions you need to ask yourself first. Questions Have I got the time? - Sounds a daft question, but seriously ask yourself if you have the time to learn. You need to ensure that you give yourself some time each and every day to do at least some programming. The best way to learn programming is by doing. Web or Desktop? - The answer to "How do I learn to program?" is different depend…

So yea, I visited the Humble Bundle today and I got some games, however half of them are for Origin! Quite disappointed to be honest, I was hoping that they will be on Steam Anyone using Origin? Probably we can team up for a game or something.

Agh, I hate these! I keep looking at the page and tempting myself to buy new games. They're so cheap, it feels like Christmas! Lol. Unlike last year I seem to already own most of the interesting games I've seen passing by (and I still have loads of unplayed ones). Anyone else getting all excited about all these sales? Right now Faster Than Light (-75%), Just Cause 2 (-80%), Hotline Miami (-75%) and Antichamber (-66%) are totally worth buying. The offer ends in less than an hour now though. There's also Garry's Mod but requires other games. (If you have it though, I'm always up for some multiplayer play!)

Was wondering if anyone here could recommend a good laptop thats quite ''cheap''. I don't expect much out of it, being able to play games (like the Sims 3), watch dvd's and go on the internet. I don't want or have the money for anything like a MAC etc I'm just after a simple laptop to do these things I'd say my top limit is £300 (Might buy second hand) Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2

If I've posted this in the wrong place, mods please shift Has anyone heard of the tile app ? I've just been looking on their site and it looks like it works like a GPS, it's job is to relay wherever you left whatever it's attached to, they have pictures of bags keys laptops, but it could be used on a dog collar as well, AND it's only $19 lasts for a year, thoughts anyone, should be up and running this winter. www.thetileapp.com

I'm quite new to the Apple family and right now I highly suspect this brand won't rest assured unless they have confused every single new Apple product owner  I've just got an iPhone about 2 months ago and since the majority of people across the ocean uses iPhone, I guess you can help me a little bit? So my iPhone's bluetooth is not working. At all. It's discoverable from every other device but can't connect. The iPhone itself isn't able to detect any devices around it. However, if I attempted a pairing from the other device it's always successful but I can't send or receive anything?? On the iPhone it says: "White Rose (my Mac's bluetooth display name) is n…

Ok I need some advice, over the past week I have had an apricot, an Apple and an egg thrown at my open back door ( just thankful the egg missed) I have an idea it's one of my neighbours kids but as I haven't actually seen anyone, I can't make accusations so I'm looking to get a cheap one camera cctv, something that will record constantly, so if necessary I can go to the police. ( the Apple missed my head and my flat screen tv by inches, ) Can anyone recommend something, don't want to walk into a shop and spend a fortune for something I will probably only need for a couple of weeks or months.

Anyone played or is currently playing this game? I bought it during the steam sales and I'm racking my brain trying to solve it but has come quite far so far (red gun). I have absolutely no clue what I'm doing until I (accidentally or deliberately) solve it, lol. Somehow it's still so incredible addictive so see what the next room looks like. Curious to see if others are playing it as well. For those that have no idea what I'm talking about. Imagine Escher making a game... That would be this game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGsnm2nOnso it's currently 66% off the next hour on steam by the way. It's totally worth it: http://store.steampowered.com/app/219890…

My computer at work is an HP Workstation Z400. It runs SolidWorks, Adobe Technical Suite (FrameMaker, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.), and some other high-end proprietary software. I'm the manager at my location and we have a staff of three (including myself), and we produce both operator manuals and parts books for high-speed state-of-the-art packaging machinery. Similar situation at the other location. Right now we have been in a crunch to meld the two locations, about 500 miles apart, to produce documents that look as though we are all done in the same room. It has been a challenge and continues to be, but we've made great progress. My computer, however, seems …

My Samsung Galaxy S became so sluggish, locking up, and required pulling the battery two or three times per day. Finally broke down today and got a new Motorola Android phone. Seems to be a great phone, but now I have to setup several apps again. Looked at a Galaxy S IV, but did not like the size (too large). If for some reason I find this phone is not for me, I can exchange it within 15 days.

Was gone for two days and brought my laptop with me as I knew I had wifi in the hotel. Filled it up with a few series I'm watching and some programming projects I was working on. After arriving yesterday I opened my laptop, logged in and had only just send a message to my friends saying I had arrived when it just... went off. Despite that the battery was still full I couldn't turn it on. Plugging in the charger didn't do anything other then making the light on the charger go weird as if it was short circuiting. @*(@$*( All my plans went right out of the window as I discovered I had nothing else with me to do I still have warranty on it but the shop has closed a few m…

Can any of you techy boffins tell me how I would go about printing a large picture when I only have access to a normal A4 printer? I am trying to print out a picture say 3' x 3' or even 3 A4 sheets x 3 A4 sheets. Is there some way to blow a pic up & make it print in pieces, a bit like a jigsaw, on multiple sheets of paper?

As I develop windows applications I have decided to go back to windows from running linux. However this leaves me in a bit of a muddle as I do like linux for certain things, not least for when I am developing for this site. Therefore Im playing with virtual machines (vmware at the moment) in order to get a linux installation without the need for reboot. I have 16gb of memory to play with so I have the resources to do this now with ease. Anyone else played with Virtual Machines?

Has anyone been to any of these events ? Is anyone going ? My son has got his ticket for telford and he's quite happy to be doing his first totally solo weekend away, I'm his mum and I'm allowed to worry ( as long as I don't tell him !) Have been on the website and read all the blurbs, but it would be nice to hear from a real person.

Recently my friend and I built a new computer, all the parts are new except the hard drive. Now the problem is it'll boot up, but then say after it loads that it can't startup, and then wants to repair itself which always results in it not being able to do it. Does anyone know of this problem? And is there a fix?
