Well for those who download things illegally from torrents its another hit for the search engines today.. The well known torrent site mininova has now been forced by the dutch courts to delist all its copyright restricted files on its site. This will now mean that mininova can only hold trackers for legally shared files which are very few and far between if we're all honest. End of mininova would be my guess

OK guys, I seem to have this problem with Sarah and copying video files and pictures rather than moving them to other places. Because of this I found that Ihave a lot of duplicated content on my harddrives. Now to put the problem into context, I have 3.5tb of hard drive space. For those of you who are none so technical, this is 3584 gig of space on my system. Thats a lot of places where there can be duplicates lying around. So tonight I decided I would have a look around and see if I could find a program that would find duplicated files on my system. I found one that seems to work quite well and shows me any file that it thinks is a duplicate (or sometimes trip…

Online vet

Well kind of an online vet lol ...... Its an interactive service that will ask you questions based on symptoms of your pet and give you advice based on your answers.. I know this is not going to be ideal in all cases but Im sure some will find it handy http://www.vethelpdirect.com/

If you have a problem with your husky and your not sure about what your own vet has said (something that comes up time and time again), then you might find this site of some use. On here you can create a question which will be answered online by a vet ... Not sure how quick they get answered as Ive not tried it yet, but looking through them the advice looks pretty good (although a lot do simply say you need to see a vet, however would agree to a lot of them too). You can buy things on here but the question bit is free. http://vetask.com/

Just been playin around with Windows 7 ..... Have had it on my machine for a bit now, but only on a virtual machine so couldnt use all the memory in my system etc. So thought tonight I would put it on my system properly and have a real play with it. So what changed? Well in my opinion I have chosen to see it as windows Vista, but how it was supposed to be in the first place. Taskbar - I gotta say the new taskbar is damned ugly. About twice the height of the current one, however for functionality its actually pretty cool. When minimising windows they are now all minimised in a lot more compact view. You can click on the cam…

Around 15,000 suspected pirates may soon get legal letters accusing them of illegally sharing movies and games. ACS:Law plans to send notes to the accused in the new year offering a chance to settle out of court for "several hundreds of pounds". A lawyer who has defended people who have received similar letters described it as a "scattergun approach" that would catch "innocent people". ACS:Law said it was "unaware" of anyone who had been wrongly sent a letter. Andrew Crossley of the firm told BBC News it was acting to "eradicate" sharing of its client's products. "We give them opportunity to enter into compromise…

I'm sure like me quite a few of you carry about a pen drive on your keys, or maybe in your handbags, purse etc. Do you only use it for carrying data about? Ive not used any of these for a while, but Iused to do and some of them are pretty good, especially if you tend to end up at peoples houses where you need a specific application they dont have installled. This is where portable applications come in handy. You can get pretty much anything in a free portable app nowadays, from portable firefox to msn, skype, utorrent and even full operating systems if you really want to. Take a look on this site and it will give you an idea of applications you can c…

Dunno if any of you have tried out googles browser (google chrome) but its a damn good one. The only thing it lacks in comparison to others now is the ability to install third party addons/plugins to give it extra functionality. Well have a read of this http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/11/24/google_chrome_extensions/ Or if your too lazy LOL ... Bascally they are trialing a few gallery for developers to build tools you can install into the browser.. This could be one thing that will push google chrome into the mainstream. I would certainly give it a try once there are a fe extentions out there

I know there has been a thread on here recently about antivirus where it said that AVG was the best but unfortunately I cannot find the thread - does anybody know the website to get this off? We have tried but cannot find the free version to put on our new laptop. Also, on our PC we currently have Virgin PC Guard - is this any good, or should I use AVG on both our PC and laptop? Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
