Soo Last Night, My mum took Gus to the vets, But he didn't come home His heart Mumur had increased to a level 6 and he has fluid in his abdomen, The vet said they could give him medication to make him feel more comfortable and attempt to drain the fluid, but in the end it would only prolong his suffering. So My Mum made the selfless desicion to have him put to rest. She said he went peacefully, drifted off to Rainbow bridge . Gus was a randy bugger, even in his older years, he had a fearless personality, despite his size, nothing phased him! Even after Kita attacked him a few times over food, even though he was old and frail he never b…

He isn't a husky but he is my very bested and loyal friend He gave everyone all his love and kisses, I always was greeted home with a big smile, big brown eyes and thousands of kisses and hugs He went crazy if we mentioned the word "CATS!" and would run around the house and garden trying to find them, not realising that he friend Itsy was a cat, bless him He taught me true friendship, about his world, about myself, true love, honesty, and the importance of the little things in life. His favourite game is FETCH He LOVED his food, especially his bone And most of all he loved everyone Rest i…

I posted a picture of Akuma in my first post to say hi to the forum. I just wanted to say a bit about him in here. We had never had a dog before and after much research picked the husky breed. We decided to adopt an older dog as we felt we needed the experience before thinking about a puppy! We were vetted and approved by Husky Welfare and went to meet Akuma. When we first saw him he seemed so big, he came up to me, smelt my hand then jumped up to my shoulders and licked my face. I didn't really know what to make of this. After spending some time with him we took him home that night and never looked back. He was 5 years old and had li…

Jake was a rescue Old black GSD which we rescued from the Blue Cross in Bromsgove in sept. 1999 as a 1 year old. Jake passed away in june 2008 having had a good time with us at the campsite and moving to Holland.... In the end he had problems going for a long walk but still wanted to be with us so we bought him his own doggy trailer to go behind the bike and he loved all the attention he got from everybody.

It's exactly three years to the day that my Max had to be put to sleep. I loved him with all my heart and think of him every single day. Today his best friend Charlie died of kidney failure. Most of my memories of max involve Mr Charlie Dog. Run free at the bridge boys. OyiFANBHIM4

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I am posting this morning. My beloved Dakota had his last and final seizure early this morning. Words can not describe how much I love him and will miss him. He would have been 11 next month.

We lost our Alice Dec 21st 2010 to health complications. She was 11yrs old and Diabetic, she was diagnosed at age 4 with diabetes. We dedicated ourselves to keeping her healthy and having a good life. Most vets say that they don't last long, but Alice enjoyed a long life. For some reason I miss her a lot today and thought I would post. We have a new husky puppy now of 10months that was born the same day Alice past on......I love my new Puppy Gracie, but am finding that nothing can truly replace my first husky love. I have posted an old pic when she was just a tiny pup with her big brother BuddhaBoy.

This post is in memory and honor of Slade, a little Boston Terrier who is gone but will never be forgotten. This little dog will always have a special place in my heart. He was the last Christmas present given to me by my Father before he passed away. This dog was with me through some of the roughest times in my life. He was there when my Dad passed on and he was there through a lot of my mother’s illness. He was my little companion who seemed to always put a smile on my face. Slade passed on a few years ago but his impact upon my life and heart still remains strong. To anyone who says "it's just a dog" you apparently have never truly shared your life with one. The…

While I am no longer with my ex, I got to know her dogs very well when I was with her. Though I only met her "foundation" dogs for one month, it was the best month I'd ever had with dogs. So it's heartbreaking to find out not only a dog I knew well, but loved, even after our break-up, has passed. Utah of Copper Creek; possibly one of the best dogs I've known. His gentleness, his kindness, his dignity and absolutely loving nature was inspirational. If only more dogs were like him. This was a husky that would daintily move around cats and curl up with them - or let them curl up on him - to sleep. Yet in the harness ready to pull he was a monster with a…

Just thought perhaps some of you would like to do this in memory of our huskies we've lost this past year and years before..... I did it for Bo and take part in both spring and fall equinox....... Light a candle in their honor - wish them a swift and peaceful trail to the bridge..... Becky The Siberian Husky Memorial Candle Ceremony. This Ceremony is unique in that the actual time occurs in the early morning for most participants, so will occur on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 8pm for those folks in the US and Europe. For those in Asia and Austraila, the ceremony will be on Friday, September 23rd, 2011…

Husky Owner's Prayer. . . . If I had one lifetime wish, Just one wish to come true. I would pray to God for yesterday, To again spend time with you. A thousand words can’t bring you back, I know because I’ve tried. And neither will a million tears, I know because I’ve cried.

It is with heavy heart that I make my first post on this forum. I regret that I didn't come across the forum until it's too late. My lovely Bailey was hit by a car on August 20th. Although he remained alive and appeared unmarked, he had suffered a blow to the head causing brain damage: he was paralysed. I took him to the vets and the vet immediately diagnosed the condition and advised me that there was little hope that he'd ever regain normal movement. Through all this he was clearly conscious as his eyes would follow me and react. He must have been totally bewildered and confused that he couldn't sit up or wag his tail. So with a very heavy heart, I signed the…

I don't know why I am posting here, maybe just to have feedback from those who understand the incredible love that these amazing Siberian souls bring.... I lost my wish Husky Kodi today to a twisted intestine, it caused a lethal infection that he never recovered from. Kodiak was just shy of 2 years, he was the only dog I have ever wanted and I had his name picked out for over 20 years. This baby boy was an AMAZING companion, just the absolute best disposition, personality and love I could have asked for, he was my love. I am just leveled by this loss and am crying and mourning in a way I have never experienced. I so hope the Rainbow Bri…

I first met her at a local animal shelter. As soon as I saw her in her pen I asked if we could meet. When they let her out she came right up to me and licked me on the cheek. The staff was surprised, they told me that she was very fearful of people. They told me how she came into their possession. She was tied up overnight in front of a vet office until animal control picked her up. I wanted to take her home right away, but they had this policy of keeping animals X days before putting them up for adoption. It was the longest 2 days of my life, all the while I was thinking what if someone else takes an interest in her before I could get there? I knew she had to come home w…

I lost my best friend today - Shad passed over the Rainbow Bridge. My vet came out and set him free for me. He gently slipped away under the shade of a maple tree in my yard with me to hold him close, and his Auntie Becky to rub his face. We had 14 years together, and they were each of them wonderful - I will miss him terribly! His mother, Ari, was my best friend before him, and she taught him well - he has followed faithfully in her paw prints. Shad-love, it was a privilege to be your human - you were my Heart-dog! Wait for me on the other side! Sutula's Shadow Dancer, CGC - 21 March 1997 - 30 July 2011 (Wuv you, Mom!)
