I'm pushing away tears as I write this. In 1997, before we knew anything about breeders, Kenai came to us from a back yard breeder not too far from us here in the midwest. For the next 14 years she would jump to her feet every time a set of car keys jingled, a door was opened or somebody grabbed her leash. If you thought you could sneak a treat from her cabinet you soon discovered you hadn't when you turned around and she was watching you. She went with me everywhere, sometimes to the annoyance of family members when they had to share their seat with her in the car. She didn't know a stranger. As the saying goes - "Strangers are only friends she hadn…

Today, my old sledding buddy Roller walked over the Rainbow Bridge. He was a dog that always held himself somewhat aloof, and always had to have the last word - on anything! He almost didn't make it through last winter - I had to shut him inside the kennel, which he hated! He didn't mind coming into the house for a while, but much preferred to be outdoors, regardless of the weather. He would come in at mealtimes, soaking wet through and shivering from it, if I didn't make him stay in, he was so stubborn! I couldn't get enough calories in him to keep his weight up... Rolly, I'll miss the wonderful times we had out sledding or at the occasional dog show. See you…

So this woman is a family's friend. She is a BIG fan of dogs and her true passion is mid-sized to large-sized dog. Recently she rescued a two-months-old husky puppy. She happily announce the arrival of her new family member and soon almost everyone in the family knows about it. I actually plan to pay a visit to her house, but school kept me busy and even if I have a free time my dad just won't let me go to her house =.= Anyway I have never seen her husky puppy up until today--because the puppy has walked the rainbow bridge not so long ago I heard about this dreadful news just a few days ago, and I am truly shocked because the puppy died because of intentional …

At 7.30pm our vet knocked our door to say that unfortunately our wonderful 2yr old cat boog had been hit by a car and killed instantly. He had been taken to the closest vet, ours, where he was identified. He really was one in a million. We had rehomed him jan 08 when his previous owners had dumped him outside our vets in the snow. They scanned him and rang his owner who said do with him what you want!! He then had an operation for a retained testicle and was neutered at the same time. That same day our dog yogi was due his boosters and our vet happened to mention that they had a cat which had been dumped. Knowing what we are like for animals they asked if we would li…

I lost my dear friend, Daemian, to a tragic car accident just weeks ago. I was hoping it would be ok for me to share a few pictures of my precious boy <3 When he was a little puppy he used to love chewing on his frozen chilly-bone. Daemian and his brother, Severus (my sisters dog.) His first snow. He loved it so much. It was a very deep snow that year, I believe it got to about 3 ft and he had to jump around like a bunny in it Daemian always had such soul-full eyes. Whenever I think about how I found him....He was laying on the ground, his eyes open. They were so empty and blank. Pups at C…

Lexie: 6/29/04 - 2/15/11 Hey, I'm just a fluff-butt runt who has gone through some tough times in my life span. Born on June 29, 2004, I was nothing but a runt in my litter so I was the last one to be picked up. For 3 years I resided in Burlington WI, with a small family who had another dog. They would let me run away for hours and not come after me... They decided to move off to an apartment where only one dog could be kept...Guess who got the boot?.. Before I knew it I was in the back of a truck going to a new home... My forever home... My Momma was my best friend! Every time she would leave to go to her friend's house I would whine an…

I found this & thought I'd share........ I remember I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep. I could see that you were crying. You found it hard to sleep. I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear, "It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here." I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea, You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me. I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore. I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more. I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care. …

Hey guys Please spare your thoughts and prayers for my good friend Leanne and her family as they lost their dear beloved pet Chopper today. He is an 11 year old German Shepard and has been with them since he was a pup and seen her and her husband through getting a house, getting married having 2 little girls. She took him to the vet this morning as he hadnt been eating and had been loosing weight, she got the call at work today as they did some tests and discovered a mass, they decided to go in and see what organ it was in and sadly she got another call saying he didnt make it through the operation. Needless to say it was a very sad and sombre day at work today…

I dont know if I ever told this story to anyone here but now I would like to to honor Honey. I rescued "honey" about 3 and a half years ago. She had been abandoned and was needing a new home, so I took her. She was the cutest little floppy-eared, shep/lab mix. She was around 10 or 12 weeks when i got her, and although she was not a very social pup she was light hearted and sweet. I had her about 8 months when she died. One day I had promised to go help paint my friends place for her because she was pregnant and I was painting for alot longer than i expected. So, when I came home and fed her during a break I decided to let her stay outside that night…

George a 2 year old German Shepherd was Talons best friend, we used to meet him on walks and also when we passed his home and he was outside Talon used to run up the drive to meet his friend. Out walking the dogs last night we saw Georges owner out in the garden, we asked how george was. George for a month or so had had problems with his back leg and which had got worse. His owners were insured which covered the first £4000 but the total cost is closer to £7000. We had been asked if Talon could give blood as he was lossing a lot of blood everytime they drained the infection. We said of course we would allow Talons blood to be used. Unfortunatly the infect…

Run free Mixi, the "Orange" Cat, you were a great friend to Robyn and her family for 15 years+. Everyone was pleased you took the injection well, and though we cried whilst burying you in your favourite spot, we are pleased that you are now running free, painless. Rest In Peace, you will be missed by us all. Mixi R.I.P 17:12 18/03/2011 Stacey xxx

It's honestly kinda late to post this thread, since my beloved koi fish Kaoru (pronounced as cow-roo) died last year. But because I never made any official R.I.P thread/posting about it, I wanna make one now. Too bad I don't have any pics bcoz I lost it all in my previous handphone, but I found a pic in Google that resembles Kaoru a lot. Honestly up until today I don't know if Kaoru is a girl or a boy, so I just give it a unisex name. You know why I name a fish (that obviously never come when called)? Because Kaoru is one of a million, it's the only fish that is willing to be hand-fed in my entire pond (I have fifty koi fishes)!! I s…

Meelah was a very special birdie to me. She was the bird that made me fall in love with birds. I got her from a boy when I was in 7th grade. My dad was furious at first, but let me keep her. She was an only bird for many years.. I will miss you so much, Meelah. I haven't really come to terms with the fact that you are gone. I love you very much, little one. Fly free, with Willow and Stardust.

My cat Jinxi died this weekend. We had no idea she was sick she seemed fine and was begging for food a couple days earlier. She was only 8 years old. It is so hard to lose something that was so close to you and so loving. What's even harder is I found her myself in our basement and I just can't seem to get that picture out of my head. I will miss her so much!

Hi, I wanted to share a beautiful poem with everyone that as loved and lost someone very special (hope no-one minds)....... God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be. So he put his arms around you and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands (paws) at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us... he only takes the best.
