I have a 3 1/2 year old spayed Husky and am considering rescuing another. She is very friendly with all dogs. Should I focus on another female or male husky?

Hello, I am 15 years old. I live with my family and my heart is set on a Siberian Husky, I did a lot of research for the past couple of weeks but I want to get answers from experts. What I read on was so far with the cons are- -Independent, For some odd reason the independence draws me closer to the dog, I don't want a needy dog that always wants to be in my personal space or follow me around 24/7, I like a dog who will be content with just laying down knowing my presence is near. -High Prey Drive, This concerns me because the family dog is a 5 year old Beagle but I heard stories if you raise one as a puppy the pup will know he is one of the family. -Heavy She…

I adopted my husky about 1.5 years ago. She recently blew out her under coat about 1.5 months ago, but her fur hasn’t stopped shedding. She is constantly shedding her top coat and the hair around her back legs is thinning to the point I can see her skin threw the thinning hair. Her hair has also become more coarse and dry. She has also become increasingly itchy on her belly and legs. She has no signs of fleas. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned about diet/nutrition?

Has anybody else had or currently going through terminal cancer with their handsome/beautiful Husky. X

hey guys, i got spirit spayed about a 2weeks ago. the vet had to shave her belly fur away for this procedure to happen. her healing's process has been good so far, stitches are out but with mild irritation to her stitches so i've placed antibotic cream on her belly for a couple days and it's been recovering pretty well. i'm just wondering how long did it take your husky's tummy fur to grow back?? I've been looking on the internet that it might take years for her fur to grow back and even when it does grow back it wouldn't be the same since winter is coming soon for us...i'm worried that she'll get cold/sick or something along those lines. Is there anything to …

I have a 9 month old purebred husky that still has floppy ears. I was wondering if anyone else had/has or know of anyone that had a husky with floppy ears? I have AKC papers saying he's purebred. I saw both of his parents and they're both purebreds with erect ears. I asked my veterinarian about his ears and she said it's up to dog if they want to erect their ears or not so I shouldn't worry to much about it. But.. I can't help but be curious about his ears?!

So my daughter always wanted a husky ever since she was 3. 13 years later her first dog passed and it was time to surprise her with a new pup. We got a beautiful brown furred husky and i k ow they are smart and unique dogs so im hoping for some tips while she is still a pup. Got damn if she doesnt have energy for days lol. Im a little concerned about her diet though as even stuff for puppies seems to give her the runs. We are trying different brands but i wouldnt mind making my own food mix for her if needed and is healthier. Damn this dog is so loving i havent had one this loving and nor ever had such a personality since the pitbull i bought my wife when we were young an…

Hello everyone, I’ve not posted in a while I have a 22 month old husky Caesar, who’s generally a little poppet. just wanted some advice..... caesar was sick a couple of times on the night of 22nd dec, the next day he was lack lustre and not interested at all in food. As we have had a previous bad experience over Christmas 2 years ago where we lost our 15 month old pup, I wasn't taking any chances and managed to get an appointment at the vet. most of his tests were fine and he just came back as dehydrated. the vet suggested we try to get food and water into him at home as he gets very stressed at the vets and we managed to do this via him drinking from my hands a…

Good day Personally i am not a husky owner, however i love huskies and i am constantly with my neighbors husky. Around a month ago every time my neighbors husky would start howling if he doesn't see me for a longer period of time. The huskies noise is making the whole neighborhood crazy, is there anything i can do to reduce the anxiety my neighbors husky gets when i am not around? I fear i may have gone to far with hanging out with the dog.

I love husky dogs, we have a small garden. I want to feed him in that little garden without taking him home. We can take a walk together in the mornings when COVID19 is present. I liked agouti husky dogs the most, a source I read said that these husky breeds are quite energetic. He had the habit of running away when we didn't throw his energy away. https://petanimalworld.com/agouti-husky-breed-informations-and-images/ There is quite a stray stray dog in the park where I plan to walk the dog. Will he get into a fight with the dogs? Although I love dogs very much, I am afraid that they will hurt me. Do you think I should buy a small husky or an adult …

I am asking as I am curious on what my potentially pregnant husky could give us for colours and eyes in her pups. And I am curious about genetics in general. It is too early for us to know for sure if she is pregnant or not and she will be going in for an ultrasound when she is far enough along. Both parents are purebred, registered Siberian huskies. Health tested, etc. Sire is a grey and white with brown eyes. I do not know any information on what Colour his parents were. He has produced grey/white, black/white and red/white puppies from different litters with both blue and brown eyes. (I do not own the sire). My girl is grey and white with blue eyes…

Loose stool

Hello, I have a 15-week old male Husky pup and I am having issues in him having loose stools. I have tried everything, and it seems to firm up for a few days, and then it goes back to being running, about the consistency of pudding. He was started on Eukanuba puppy food and I switched him to Wellness dry puppy food about 3 weeks ago. He has been on strictly Wellness food for about 2 weeks (I had mixed it gradually over a weeks time). He first got diarrhea about the time I started switching him, so I tried chicken and rice for a couple of days and it helped, but when he went back to the kibble his runny poos came back. Then I tried the pumpkin, and …

So, I know this may be a strange question, but... Are huskies able to fight off another dog if it is attacked? The reason I'm asking is that I am nervous about a new dog that has moved to my neighborhood. It got out of its yard twice now, and tried to attack my husky. Thankfully, the first time I had her on the leash walking into my driveway and I was able to get in the door with her before he got right up to us!, second time, she was in our fenced backyard and the other dog came up to the fence very aggressively trying to attack her through the fence. My husky is only a puppy. 6 months old. Right now, I know the other dog can kill her. He looks like a pit bull mix. I tal…

Hand Holding

We have a few Siberian husky books, one of which is Siberian Huskies for Dummies. I realize that authors tend to offer one perspective, so it's important to find information from different sources to have a well-rounded view. There's a passage in Siberian Huskies for Dummies that I'd like some opinions on. It is: "Hand-holding Your Husky may gently take your hand in his mouth. This is a gesture of love and affection. He is also requesting your trust in him not to bite you. Allowing him to do so shows him that you have faith in him. This is a bonding strategy" (p. 81). I didn't really think much of this until we started teaching…

Hi everyone! I live in a hot and humid climate.... please tell me what is the MOST EFFECTIVE treatment for ticks and fleas. I would say my 6 month female has a moderate level of fleas and ticks. I am a first time owner and finding them difficult to control. Also, what can I spray in my room where she stays with me to keep them out?

Hi, im gonna have a female husky in two weeks. She weights 9 pounds at 6 weeks. Im thinking of buying a collar for her grown up but im confused with the sizes. Large is for 15-18’’ and XL for 19-22,5’’. Can you please tell me the neck circumference of your baby please. In the same time, i would like to know the chest girth for an harness. The large size 20-30’’ should be good. Also, what size is yours grown up? I cant believe she will not be bigger than 35-40 if she is already 9 pounds haha helpp thank you

Hey, new guy here, figured I’d ask here for input before going to the vet. i’ve got a Siberian Husky which turned 8 years old a couple days ago. For atleast the past year I noticed that he shed WAY less fur than he would before. By less I mean pretty much none of the thick patches that usually shed around summer. Now that winter is around the corner, we’ve already have a few episodes of cold weather and a little snow, but the dog has a very thin but even coat. I can see the skin thru the fur when petting/brushing it. He is outside between 4 and 12 hours a day since he’s little so he’s seen cold but I noticed now thay he wants …

Me and my girlfriend are destined to be first time husky owners. We have already reserved this puppy from a reputable local breeder. The question I have for all of you professionals is what color is this puppy? Does anyone have any idea what he will look like when he gets older? I'm very curious as most the puppies I have seen aren't this color. Pictures of your older huskies that may have looked similar to this when a puppy would be incredibly helpful. Thanks!

I'm very curious when reading other member thread about their husky winter coat. Here in Indo and most part of south east Asia, we only have two season : rainy season and dry season. That means...our husky will not or ever grow their winter coat...? Just very10x curious when u guys talk about "our boy/girl started to grow their winter coat" or " their started to blow their winter coat". Is there a big difference in appearance when they grow their winter coat and when they blow their winter coat? Or it depends on what type of fur ur husky have ? Do u guys here have any photo of ur boy or girl with winter coat and after their blow their winter coat...? Thanks for readi…
