Does anyone ever take their huskies to rallies etc? Have been thinking about this and had a chat with marc about it, just wondered how much time it would take up extra training etc as we work full time and have 2 kids don't want to put the family out too much if you know what i mean?

Last night, Marc, my hubby was out all night with friends and was sleeping out so rather than my boys sleeping in their cages like they have always done, I decided to let them sleep with me. I have wanted to do this for so long but hubby has always put his foot down with a firm hand so to speak lol. I lasted about 10 mins before i'd had enough of paws standing all over my face and being scratched so i put them out on the landing to sleep there. For about 45 mins, they tore up and down stairs and then became really hot, i could hear them panting so i gave up and put them back in their cages, they settled down immediately and went straight to sleep. …

we noticed that suka was showing signs of food agressin whilst eating with you started stroking him he would start to freeze and even growl and bark at you. he is 15weeks old and thought right nip this in bud before it gets serious. so this is the method i used you may or maynot agree with it but it worked for me. well i would but his food down let him eat for a while then i would start stroking him first on his head then round by his chin he would freeze and then growl so then i would give him a stern no and take the bowl away. then he would look round for his food so i waited to he calmed down and give him his bowl back. after using this method for a…

At the moment i've got my staffi and my husky on bakers complete both get some tinned meat added in to moist it up alittle. Been scouting bout the net trying to find out whats best for the dogs with best interests at heart, i've since discover that bakers has a bad reputation for itself in that there food is laced with high E numbers unnecessary colourants, and the claims they make that cant be backed up with actual evidence. I stumbled across this site http://rawfed.com/myths/ (hope management don't mind me putting links in ), this is a very interesting read and been something that i've been considering for some time now, if anyone has any advice or info that could help …

i'll start with the easiest. Feeding when do you typically reduce meals to 3? she's currently on 4 meals of 50g of Royal Canin Medium Breed. Biting she is really biting us, well mostly me...even if i'm not paying her attention, so say sitting there changing josh, or god knows just sitting there. she'll run up to me and bite me, i tell her no and push her away but she just attacks. We locked her in a different room 3 times tonight, and each time she ran out and jumped me again. We're trying to give her a toy each time, but more than half of the time she bites that for 10 seconds then comes back to bite us. I pin her to the ground she calms, t…

Hey all I was wondering if anyone here has experienced the same thing, Sakora is being........well really bitchy and strange, She's blowing her coat right now, she has eatin maybe 3cups of food in the last 2 weeks, along with treats and 2 raw bones, We went to training class and she was a big old show off, but still seems to be in a mood, The trainer even commented that sakora seemed goofy, I took her to her best friend Echo's(Belgin Sheppard) house for a play date and when he jumped on me to say hi like he always does , Sakora full out attacked him she had him by the neck and was just kicking the crap out of him, I had to grab poor echo and throw him behind me, Then she …

Well for the past 3 weeks balto has puked every other week >> it's a yellowish colour with grass in it, he always eats grass >> i just put this down to him being a greedy little ..... and for the past week Alaska has also eaten a lot if grass and threw up her treat i gave her, and last night i found she AND balto had been sick, the same yellow colour with grass strands in it >>>> yestaday they didn't eat a lot either, but apart from this they have eaten fine, stools nice and firm (their poo is kinda been in pellet form lol >> if thats normal, but it's been firm) they have been themselves:ran_smile: sooo what should i do, i think …

Well i got alaska at 7 1/2 weeks and we trained her and she was the sweetest little thing, as i remember she rarely came to me for petting but absolutely loved it when we gave it to her, she would get so excited when she saw one of us and gave us all her paws lol, and i can't quit determine if it was before or just after we got balto when she was just less bothered >> or maybe it's becuase balto loves attention and i contrast the two? so to all female and male sibe owners...is there a difference?? alaska still smiles and wags her tail but it's like she's a little bored by the same old routine whereas balto still wags his tail...anything i can do> she …

My dirty smelly filthy hound - I mean gorgeous striking but slightly dirty on occasion - Malamutt that having a bath is a pleasurable thing? Up to now it's been a bit of a wrestling match between him against Deb and myself but as he grows it's getting to be worthy of a video post for laughs. Any ideas gratefully accepted and considered!!

Snatching??
by Sarah- 9 replies

Anyone got any ideas on how to stop them snatching food from you? When I'm training Kaiser, eg SIT. He does it first time but as soon as i lower my hand to give him a treat, he jumps up my fingers end up in his mouth and his needles for teeth always seem to get me - it's as though he's absolutely DESPERATE to get the treat. I've spent a lot of time at each training session to try and stop this but don't know what to do about it to be honest! I have tried moving my hand away before he gets it and telling him to wait before he comes to take the food but even doing this, he still snatches it. Any ideas greatly appreciated!! :banghead:

Apart from you of course...who's the alpha (if you have more than 1 dog) with my two we got alaska first so she was more dominant in her own home, and to this day she still is. They had 3 weeks of fighting to figure it out (and i was told to let them ride it out until they got the packing order but then to stop all fighting afterwards) and alasak won about 95% of fighting , she would gowl at her food, steal his toys and treats...attack him at any given chance and poor balts would just give in:confused: but now theres some equality >> balto can keep his treats (lol:rolleyes:) and he doesn't get attacked, but she will growl and snap at him still if he come…

As most of you know I was having problems with growing at other dogs and was trying to find a behaviourist. The other day I found a new area just up the road, I had been walking straight past it all this time thinking it was someones property - what a t*at! Anyway HadTuesday off work and so took Gizmo there and then Marley and Bandit. Bearing in mind I hadn't managed to decide which behaviourist yet. There were hundreds of dogs around which were great! The first dog we met I did what I usually did and suprise suprise Gizmo growled at the other dog. They lady walking the other dog mentioned they had a similar problem with her dog (Bichon Frise -…
