as the dogs r currently destroying the garden we were thinking about sectioning a part of the garden off and building a run , as its gonna get worse in the winter as our garden doesnt drain very well, so we r looking for ideas as to what to use, does anybody have runs????? what size fences do you use??? etc etc , and would you build one run , or 3 seperate ones ???how much space is needed for each dog ??? any ideas please, the dogs would not live in the runs, they r indoor dogs, but currently if i let them out to play i have to go with them , would like something secure enough to be able to leave them in (then i might be able to go to the loo in peace )

Whenever he is in the park off leash he will find something to eat. He will never leave it and if I'm catching him he will bite me. Actually he is biting me all the time I'm trying to forbid him to do something in the park (in that moment I'm not anymore his friend, I become an impediment in his way). He never does this to my husband. Always when he wants our attention or especially when he wants to go outside he will chew our hands. The same way he wakes my husband up every morning, just waiting for his palm to appear. Did you have this kind of problems? How did you get rid of them?

Hiya How can i look for a pedigree on a dog? i'm looking for: Amical Teilo For Tokyn (Eika's father). Jacqui has been preoccupied with many things, and i don't want to keep bugging her for the info...she is going to send it to me, but needs to sort personal life out first. I want to see what his parents/G'parents looked like as well!!

Just a quick q for interest: Which sibe is prefered for showing, the British, the American, The French, Russian, South Africa, Australia? I know a lot fo UK breeders import sibes from other countaries to improve their stock. I read the breed was first registered in Amercia, is the American stock appreciated in the UK show-ring? The UK sibes seem to look different and i was just wondering which type of sibe is appreciated as it seems to always change. ? Here are 2 pics of American show sibes: And the UK: Sorry not gre…

Hi there, My husband and I are thinking about getting a Husky or Malamute. I just want to get some good advice before we start looking. Growing up we had a couple of huskies and a couple of malamutes. From what I remember they were exceptional (albeit hyper) dogs and well behaved. They had the occasional set back but my step-dad was always there with a firm hand to set them straight. Eventually when my younger brothers were born my parents didnt have enough time for four children and four dogs so we gave them up in place for a smaller less needy dog. Our current situation we live in the city but have a very large back yard and are ver…

Some of the things every Sibe owner knows. Huskies do many things. They live fast and play hard, they are always on the move and ever willing to enjoy any situation. And along the way they make us laugh, as well as cry, and remind us constantly of what it really is we should be using our lives for. Anyone who has owned a Husky can tell you endless stories about the characteristics of the breed. Some people consider them 'peculiarities', we prefer to call them blessings. Here are some of the things every Husky owner knows, and every good Sibe does. Playing rough. It's surprising how few people in this world have seen …

I'm sure Ive read something about it somewhere on here, but can I find it?? The tip of Myshka's nose is turning piggy pink! It has always been black until about 6 months ago, it started turning pink - it looks SO wierd! Add to that her black moustache (my son started calling her Hitler! ) and I giggle when I look at her, bless her! Question: is it normal for the nose to lose pigment & turn pink?? see what I mean??

I found a husky at the local shelter. I met her and had her meet my 19 month old son. She was very polite. Came up with her ears down, wagging her tail. Didnt jump up at all. Just gently licked both our faces. I left, came back. Then i brushed her a little. She LOVED that, and just the second time coming to see her she seemed to have already warmed up to both of us even more. One thing though. She was given up by her owner because her owner THINKS she killed her chihuahua. Either it was her or her other dog. She gave them both to the shelter. (i dont know the breed of the other dog) I believe it is common for Huskies to att…

I clean houses for extra money and one family had a husky that they kept outside. I live in Louisiana and our weather has been extremely hot and humid. This family is not a "dog family" by any means. Their dogs are not spayed and allowed to roam the neighborhood and they have had three litters this year (20 pups that her five young children were allowed to handle very roughly). Their golden retriever has had heartworms. This is not a "back-woods" type family. They are very wealthy and live in a very nice area. They have all the means necessary to properly care for their animals. I complained about the husky looking lethargic and overheated. She was miserable an…

Ok, the last few days for some reason i've notice mini fights breaking out between my two boys when they have a bone. This has just happened again as i've given them a knuckle bone each in the back garden despite having the roar of F1 cars on at the moment as i'm watching the race, I heard them snarling and growling so i went outside and said ENOUGH and they stopped and looked at me and then left each other alone. Is there anyway I can stop them doing this or is it "healthy" in a way for them to have a mini bit of competition? When i feed them their meals ie kibble or chicken wings etc they keep to their own and there's never a problem.

Okay everyone here goes: We were doing really well with housebreaking for a while, but we had a little bit of a flood and the water had a chance to soak into the hardwood floor, and I think it has brought an old smell to the surface. So, now Finn insists upon going on that spot, which happens to be in my bedroom. I've put down papers there to attempt to protect the floor and so that she does'nt get used to just going wherever she wants, and I'm really trying to stay on top of her about keeping hte bedroom door closed so that she'll go there and scratch when she needs to go, and then I rush her outside. Problem here is that none of the door…

with this blazing hot sun, its all nice that we can finally sunbathe and get a nice tan but with our dogs having a more sensitive skin sunburn isnt top of the list for them! Ultimately with the sibes coat being as dense and thick as it is we dont need to worry about covering the whole body in suncream but they can get burnt on the inside of their ears and on their nose where the skin is revealed. What I would like to know is what suncream do you use or recommend to use on your sibe? What SPF would you look for and also any brands that you would not recommend? We currently use Garnier Anbre Solaire spray on sun cream which is SPF 10 Im worried th…
