This is a bit similar to Mary & Tony's query about Grey in that I am trying to investigate Diesel's history. I have tried ringing the Kennel Club on the number off their website, but the number is constantly engaged, so I emailed them last week. In my original email, I stated we had rehomed Diesel, we have no history on him as everything we were told turns out false. The only thing we have for definite is his pet name & his microchip number, that my vet found when I took him for a vet check when we first brought him home. We were told he was 3, turns out he's at least 5 when we count back; we're still not sure if he's a mal or ma…

We bought this really nice leash for Pongo. It's made of a bungie type of material which is easy on the hands when he does pull and it also gives him feedback that he is pulling without choking him. He seems to realize what he is doing and stops. Very durable and even has a traffic lead attached. I think it is definitely worth the price if you have a sibe that likes to pull. Plus the large one is a really pretty turquiose blue which really compliments the husky eyes:cool: http://www.moochieandco.com/moochie/product.asp?s%5Fid=0&pf%5Fid=PAAAAAJONPMKEOFD

Hi All, We are having problems with our monsters. Sapphire who is now 17 weeks has started messing and urinating on top of the sofas and our older dog then sprays over whatever she has done. Sapphire is still in and out of the vets for IV fluids and seems to have developed separation anxiety. She will mess even when left alone for 30 minutes and cries like she is being murdered. We have kept Sapphire inside because she has been so ill and needed to be watched closely and kept our older dog in with her to help with the separation anxiety. Any advice and help would be very much appreciated!!!! Ange

Went to Pets at Home today after a new brush as or GSD is moulting and was getting fed up of hoovering the carpet every 2 hours so that it looked clean. Found this - The Moult Master (http://www.petsathome.com/find/category-is-2+dog/category-is-2g+grooming/category-is-2g02+grooming+tools/product-is-V00589) Couldnt believe how much hair I managed to remove in a few mins - usually use a comb and and brush and remove hardly anyhting.

My boys have been spoilt over the past few days! Getting new harnesses each, bought them some treats and some Nature Diet Rabbit and Turkey meals all of which they love, harnesses not here yet though so not sure if they will approve or not, lol I also bought them a new toy I spotted in Pets At Home. Its called The Chuckle and I thought it would be nice fun toy for them to play with. If you have ever had a jibber jabber toy thing when you were younger you should have an idea of what noise it makes. It is made out of the bouncy rubber which with my 3 seems to last without detruction. As you probably guessed if you shake the chuckle side to side it will…

Hey everyone, My pup is showing some rather odd behavior in my opinion - She bites alot (which is expected as a puppy), at first things like ending play time with no contact at all worked, then we had to start gently holding her around the mouth and saying no which again worked for a short time but then she would just keep trying though she'd bite hanrder and she would try to dodge us when we tried to stop her, then we put our fingers under her tongue which she hated at first and well your getting the picture - not even leaving the room altogether, distracting her with her toys and anti biting sprays work now - as soon as we return she starts again, sometimes …

I was wondering how everyone contains their sibe's ... ?? My sibe's are the most INCREDIBLE and AMAZING escape artists ... I have had to make my fences fox proofed but I am moving to a new house where there is no fencing and I have been getting quotes for fencing that I will put into the ground about half a metre for the digging... I am wondering what kind of fencing other people use to keep your sibe's safe and secure ??

Ive just had a thought, seen this walkydog thing a few times now and have been looking for a bike antenna for when I start bike joring with the boy and its just occured to me, that maybe the walkydog could be used as one. Anyone else thought of this or maybe even tried to have this at the front of the bike instead of under the saddle? Here is the walky dog - http://www.innerwolf.co.uk/gbu0-prodshow/Walky_Dog.html I know it wouldn't do exaclty the same as the antenna does but just wondering if you could clip the lead end to the start of your ganglines using a karabina?

A friend of mine is getting a rig, and needs to figure out how to transport it. She has a Ford Transit Connect type van, one of the smaller ones, so it won't fit inside with the dogs etc. She's thinking either a trailer or somehow putting it on the outside of the back of the van. How do people with rigs transport them please. Thanks

I wasn't sure if this is a Husky question or a Health question but... Skye has come into season for the 1st time and we have a 10 week old puppy Skye has started peeing on the newspaper left down for the puppy at night and has began to chew at the walls and skirtingboard again. These are small prob's that I am sure will be addressed as the Sasha (the puppy) gets older, I praise Skye whenever she 'goes' outside, on walks and in the garden and have told her 'No' when she chews. Do you think this is because she is in season or is because we have a new puppy? Maybe I am putting too much 'human emotion' on this…

Hi guys, after many hours of reading and us discussing what is actually needed for a new pup, ive decided to turn this over to you all, and get some definitive answers. As you know , claire and are are looking to start our pack very soon, and we wish to know what equipment would be best to have once we have the pup. We have already changed the garden as we thought we were rehoming earlier in the year, but that fell through, and our garden is now enclosed with a 6 ft (ish) fence, and all plants are in pots.... we got rid of most of the stuff we had when our last dog passed away in february. What this refers to are items such as cages, brushes, pup…

I just ran across this and found it quite interesting. Click on the bottom left paw print and take a test to see if a husky is right for you... http://www.huskycamp.com/manual.htm I ran it two ways...first with the knowlege I had when I got Bo, and secondly with the knowledge I have now.A good way to check to see if you're prepared to have a Siberian in your life. Very eye opening for anyone considering getting a Siberian.

Uh. ok. We re-seeded our lawn. Tilled the ground. Spread the seed, and covered with compost. Then i put temporary fencing up all around the yard to protect it from stomping and my Sibe from peeing and pooping on it. We started yesterday around 10 am. We just now finished. We have a large dirt area next to the house that I knew she could go pee in. And here's the kicker. She absolutely REFUSES to go there. Kiba has not peed or pood since 10 am yesterday!!!! Thats well over 24 hours. I had no idea they could hold it that long. I've never known a more stubborn creature. She's been eating, and drinking since then…

Afternoon all. So we're on to our 2nd dog tag for Zeus in 7weeks as he constantly tries to bite and play with his dog tag... always resulting in a lost tag! As an alternative we're considering going for an embroidered collar like this... http://www.orvis.co.uk/store/productchoice.aspx?pf_id=9X30&dir_id=6259&group_id=6272&cat_id=6273&subcat_id=6274&adv=9652&cm_mmc=channeladvisor-_-google-_-2008-_-9652&CAWELAID=265645803 Anyone else got one of these? More expensive than a tag, but if we're going through tags at this rate I think its a better option. And if anyone has a cheaper version, let me know!!

It is a husky question honest. I have a carpenter coming today to look at putting a platform in the back of the van, above the dog crate, so that we could chuck a mattress in and sleep in there if necessary when we go to meets. I am a bit concerned though that this would mean there wouldn't be enough air circulating for the dogs through the night. How much of a gap should I leave between the top of the crate and the underneath of the platform? How can I ensure that they have enough air in there? There is no grill between the seats in the front of the van, and the back, so I thought if I left that open, that would help, but obvi…

Hey, I have a question for the more experienced husky owners out there... I adopted a husky around 2.5 months ago and His coat was pretty beat up (because he was an outside dog) when I first got him. I bathed him and started brushing him daily. I expected the first couple of weeks to be crazy shedding because of the regrowth of the missing hair and I knew the brush was going to pretty much look like unraveled mittens caught up in the wires... but it has been well over 8 weeks and his coat is still falling out and getting all over. I don't mind cleaning it up, but I researched a little bit on huskies shedding and blowing their coats and I think he already b…
