Hi guys I’m new here but today we met a 13 week old German shepherd who almost double my size which made me ask myself is my 12 week old husky healthy and a normal size for his age. he is on a very good diet and eats 2 smaller and 1 large meals a day. hard to get a decent picture in which you can accurately tell his size but he is roughly a foot tall, thanks

Hey Guys, So I thought I would share with you some of my recent experience with bathing and grooming my huskies. Now bathing is normally a hand full at the best of times and would normally end up in 4 bottles of shampoo, even more so with Keiko and his masses of fur☹️. Now my daughter is a Scentsy consultant and said to me about trying out the dog grooming products, so I ordered the Shampoo and the No Knot Spot for their backends as this is a nightmare also. My shampoo arrived and after bathing 7 dogs, to my amazement, I still had just under half a bottle. Next came the grooming, now, Kieko hates his is tail and back end being touched at all as it matts together bec…

I live by the highway near a small town, and have started having problems with my husky running off. He always used to stay close to the house but is now 7.5 months old and just wondered into town on me yesterday. I also spend a lot of my time at the farm and have him run off to the neighbours (up to 3-4 miles away) as they have female dogs. I tie him up when I can but I like him to get as much exercise as he can, and as I have long days sometimes, I don't always get the chance to walk him. I tried a shock collar that is suppose to keep him in a certain range but it does not seem to phase him. I'm told to neuter him, but i've read that it can effect his growth? Which i wo…

Titan Crossed North the Rainbow Bridge at 4;10 am Sunday 2-16-2020 in my arms on the way to the vet. I told him over and over how handsome he was, how proud of him I was, How GOOD of a boy he was, How much I loved him, how much I wanted him to stay but that it's ok for him to let go. My heart is broken but it will heal with a deep scar. Now I want to start an awareness campaign for Parvo (Canine Influenza) But I do not know-how. I would greatly appreciate any help I can get from friends family and others. If you would like to take arms in this campaign with me and help me I would GREATLY appreciate it. I want to help make EVERYONE aware of the IMPORTANCE of Booster shots …

Hi Unfortunately on Saturday our dear Maximus was hit by a car and broke his front leg badly. He has surgery on Tuesday to fix it. Currently he is hobbling around and you can tell he wants to get up and exercise. After the surgery I am guessing they want him pretty much immobile, however you know huskys. He's already getting really anxious and is begging to go on a walk. We will take him to pee in the front yard and its super difficult to get him back in cuz he wants to go out. Is there a way i can stimulate him? We are thinking its going to be a month's recovery. We do have another husky who keeps bring him toys to play with her but he he's not interested.

(If there's a similar thread, I haven't seen it -please delete mine if there is!) Shock, horror, my dog pulls. And it is like nothing I have ever experienced before. Who'd have thought a husky pulling? Anyway, at the moment we have a flat collar and standard leash. We do the 'stop/wait till he comes back into right position/ set off again' method of training. I also use a clicker when I can as he pays more attention to that. I'' try and explain the scenario as best I can (I'm not a wordsmith) - the first walk of the day really sets the tone for the rest of the day. There is absolutely no point in trying to do any training with him until he has had a…

Hello everyone, not been on this site much, but if there's anyone that could give me some advice, or share your knowledge with an amateur, it wouldn't be wasted! Sorry for the long post. I have a huskyxlab; I have a lot of experience with Labs, NONE with huskies, and my little hellhound definitely has many husky attributes! He's sixteen months old, and he came to us from another family at ten months. He was very mouthy at first, excitable, stubborn, all of that has settled down. On walks, when he meets other dogs he's a big, bouncy excitable dunce. Not sure what his previous owners did in terms of socialising him, but he showed a lot of signs of 'bad manner…

Hi guys, I'm just new here in this group. Would like to ask if there's similar thing that happened with your doggo. I have a 2-year old female husky and seems that she lacks energy. She has been like that for 3 days now. She does not vomit or loose bowel though and still eats, but she can barely step in our stairs the way she used to. What do I do with her? Help... Thanks in Advance!

He literally chewed it off!!! The cone is still good, but beware it wont survive a Husky chewing it beyond puppyhood ;-)

Hey guys so I’ve been dying to get my husky.. problem is my family is allergic mom, brothers, nephews etc and Also my mom suffers from asthma. I’m getting my own place and the plan was to get my husky but after thinking about it, I wouldn’t be able to really have my family over or have them watch my pup if I go away. It’s kind of like a family or the dog situation, I’ve been infatuated with huskies all my life, my first dog was a husky but he lived outside full time (you could do those things in the 80s) he loved it and never even wanted to be in the house. But anyway I’ve been dying for the moment to get another husky but I’m really stuck here. My mom and I both started …

Hey everyone! I was just curious about what you all do with your huskies when you leave the house? Do you crate them? Let them stay about and roam? If so, what age did you begin letting them stay out? Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

Our son’s Siberian has always been small and needs a special diet due to sensitive stomach. She now has a terrible hacking cough . Vet said not kennel cough. Maybe allergies. She’s 4 yrs old. They put her on allergy pills but I’m not seeing any difference since she came here a week ago. Makes my heart hurt hearing her. She has gagged until she’s vomited phlegm. You can tell she’s unhappy. Any one have suggestions? Should we worry about cancer? How do we test for that? I don’t want to scare our son as Nala is everything to him. He’ll be getting a new vet, as they just moved out of the area where other vet was and will be with us until they settle. We all love Nala😢 Ho…

Please help. We just adopted 2 huskies Saturday. They were Amish breeding dogs and were in a shelter for 4 months. Queenie is 5 and Gracie is 3. Here’s the problem. Queenie is afraid to come through the back door into the house. I literally have to pick her up and carry her in and then she’s fine. I have tried everything...toys, food, treat trails and keeping her on a leash. And they are also very timid and seem to be very weary of men more so than women. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I hurt myself.

Hello My female husky puppy (3 months) randomly becomes lethargic, shaky and then dribbles urine while she is lying down. I took her to the ER and they said she was ok and gave her sub Q fluids and an anti nausea shot. She also pees quite frequently. At least 20 or more times in an hour. Which means she is peeing in the house. When I take her outside she pees and as soon as she comes back in she pees. She will squat on her bed and pee. She has peed on my bed. She has peed in my lap. Im exhausted!! I crate her when I go to bed. She was doing good until I made the mistake of letting her sleep with me in my room. Now when I crate her at night she makes all kinds …

Hi! I have a question on this subject and wondering if anyone has any form of answer (literally anything will be helpful). My sib Cooper is 2 years old and I am debating about neutering him. We adopted him from a family who could not take care of him properly. He has no major behaviour issues, has decent recall, and is quite calm in comparison with other huskies. One major problem we are having is that he keeps getting violent reactions from other dogs and in some cases attacked (about 1 in 4 dogs has a negative reaction to him). So far there have been three major incidents, 2 of which ended in vet visits. The last one was so bad he had to get 13 stitches on his ches…

Hello, what routines do your huskies have that meet their needs so they can respond to house-training and have times where they can be indoors to relax. I am personally seeing issues with my feeding routine, exercise, and time where my pet can have social time with us. House-training has been a drag because we started him off with a pee-pad indoors. It now is very slow to help him understand he has to go outside to go bathroom. I also have him outdoors for now, and bring him in only to house-train him. I have two children under the age of 2 and while they have needs my dog can easily pee on the floor and it would be a missed opportunity to train him. I did notice he is a …
