When I was walking Marley yesterday I got talking to a lady who was walking her dogs. I was saying how I was trying to get my boys on the rig or scooter as a form of exercise for them. She was saying that she has an attchment for her bicycle which she can attch the lead to and she uses that to take them on her bicycle. She doesn't know what it was called or where to get one from as she was given it by an old friend. Does anyone here know what they are called or where I may get one from?

My wife and I just had our first child. He's going on 4 months. We will never 100% trust our sibe, Ripley, around him, but we're also not fearful that she'd do anything to him. Any thoughts from the group on things to expect? Ripley has been the self-proclaimed center of the Universe for the past 5 years. She's slowly adapting to her new role in the family.

Husband and i are talking about when we get the puppy...and as it grows up. We are going to crate train her, and the days when we're at work she will be in the crate, hubby will come back at lunch to take her out then we will both be back about 5.00ish...he is thinking we should let her roam the house when we're sleeping, but i think she should be in her crate to keep her and our house safe. What do you guys do?

I was just reading anther site and found this: If you have one of those non-digging huskies and havent dig-proofed your fence and find yourself with an expert tunneler one day, the temporary solution for digging is to scoop up their poo and sprinkle it around the fence-line until a more permanent solution can be implemented. Yep, you read that right, a husky will NOT go anywhere near its poo, so if you find a dig spot, the easiest way to get them from digging in that spot is to put their poo in that spot. Sure, theyll go find another spot to dig, but for now youve stopped the digging at that one spot. Once youve recognized the digging has begun, its …

Every day when we leave the house we put on a small radio that is above the cage quietly as a little background noise for Kimba and Kaiser. Any of you lot ever done this? Kimba I dont think it makes much difference to now if Im honest, but it seemed to quieten him down when he was in his crate and just getting used to it. Wonder what music they would decide to listen to? lol

Good day. Just want to have some advise form you guys: My wife and I work from 8 to 5. Would the dog become rambunctious and bored because we are to there most of the time? I will train the dog everyday and take it for regular walks and runs? But will this be enough? Will this be enough so that the dog will turn out a family friend or foe?

Read different views on this and just wondered what your experiences (good or bad) have been on when is the right time for pups to leave the parents and be taken to their new home. The pup i have bought was born on Dec 23rd and I have been told I should be able to pick her up at the end of Feb. Sounds about right to me. The pups are now feeding away from the mother as they are causing her distress now that they have proper teeth, they are feeding well apparantly. I understand that all litters are different but just wondered what was the norm and what if any are the advantages of staying with the parents any longer than 8 weeks. I cant wait…

me and my boyfriend have a 12 week old husky, we've had him from 7 weeks so hes bin with us for quite a while now, we want to let him off the lead but so many people have told us not to let him off because he will not come back, but when we take him for walks he always plays with the other dogs and runs around, but he can only go so far because of the lead. i feel like hes trapped because of this lead but i dont want him to not come back. any suggestions.?

Was just reading this on another forum. Apparently some trainers will use a alternative recall command to use as an 'emergency' recall. I'm persuming this is one that is taught but very rarely used unless the situation occurs when your husky will not return. Anyone else heard about this? Can see both sides of t he story on whether or not to use one, but to me it seems if your gonna spend so much time teaching this, then wouldnt it be better to train them not to ignore you in the first place lol..

Hi, new to the Siberian Husky breed. I have bought a pup of which I will be able to bring home in March, got one or two photos and wondered if the more experienced members could tell me what the final colour would likely to be. Just curious really. Mother was white, other pups are black/grey and like the one in the photo. Many thanks, Graham

hi all, just wanted to share this with you, and hopefully give hope to any having training issues. mikito had a thing about not coming back on the lead, he didn't run away but wouldn't get close enough for you to grab his harness and if you lunged at him he'd back further away. so we have been doing alot of lead work and having two of us when he is off lead as he was better at getting on the lead with two of us, and then today, out on me own with them, he stood there, i threw him a treat, he ate it and then stood close enough for me to get hold of him, without having to lunge. im sooooo proud and happy with him, he's the man today!!!!!! it may only seem like a small thin…

The toy is a ball, it's one of the rubber, dimpled balls with a bell in the middle. The dog chewed through the rubber and a vaccuum was created, sucking his tongue into the hollow centre of the ball. The story is terrible and the link is here: http://www.thechaistory.blogspot.com/ There have been other incidences of this sort of thing happening with the same sort of toy and it appears to happen when there is only one hole in the ball. If there is another, smaller hole in the ball then the vaccuum effect is avoided. Please have a look and check your toys...

As you know I am fairly new to the "Husky" breed, but did do a lot of research before we got Isis. Anyway she is now 11 weeks old and is beginning to change colour. Her red hair is beginning to turn grey, most of her tail is now grey, and large area of her hind shoulders are beginning to turn grey. Ive read on here that they may become a lighter or darker tone of their original colour, but this is a totally different colour. Is this normal? Will I need to change anything on her paper work, as she is registered as red&white?

Ok, if all goes well with the breeder on Sunday and we pick a pup, she emailed me last week to tell me that she has 6 pups, 2 weeks old (i've known her for about 3/4 years now), we will be bringing him/her home in about 5/6 weeks.....we have 2 cats, what is the best way to introduce them to eachother? One of them is extremely skittish and is scared of her own shadow, and when we lived with mike's (my husband) family, who have 3 dogs, she hid a lot and peed on my clothes (very annoying!)...but then they are all older dogs, rather than a puppy...hmm The other is pretty laid back and even began to get used to the dogs by the time it came to us moving out, we …

Ive been reading through and it appears that many of you guys/ gals on here appear to cage your husky/s when your out and at night. So far weve had our pup for 3 weeks and not even considered caging her. When we are out during the day - she getspt in the kitchen with our GSD and a stair gate across the door, and all they appear to do is sleep, theres no mess, no sig of chaos when we get back! During the night she sleeps in our bedroom (not on the bed) with our GSD and again theres a stair gate across the doorwa so that we can here if the kids are up and about during the night. Again there is no hewingor anything like that! So why do…
