we took suka for his first walk today and he was remarkibly well behaved hardley pulled at all(maybe not strong enough yet). he spent most the time walking by my side, only time he pulled a bit was when he wanted to meet some one but was soon walking nicely again. he occasionaly will go into sled mode and start running a bit. we met the one guy who said awww its a mini wolf. and we had some one ask if i wanted to sell him:eek:!!!

i have always wondered if my husky is a little on the lean side, the vets are ussless and some say too thin others say just fine, she weighed 15kg when she was 5 months and now she is 8 months i think she must weigh around 18-20kg, becuase her brother weighs 22kg now so i dont think she'll weigh his weight. I have got her on satin balls: http://www.njboxers.com/satin-balls-recipe.htm and she has put on weight, when she was on james wellbeloved she lost weight, i could feel the grooves inbetween her ribs when i would stroke her, a very defiant spine and when she lay down there was a huge dip from the ribs to tail. now i can stroke her and feel some rib…

During the past week I was fortunate enough to be off work and was looking forward to lots of lie ins as i usually get up at 6 a.m. - how wrong could i be? Due to having Isis prior to christmas she has spent a couple of months with us now and is obviously used to getting up at 6 a.m. - every mornign at 6 a.m. on the dot she was awake - i tried to ignore her but it didnt work as she howled and cried by our bedroom door. I thought that she was just used to going out at 6 a.m. so i let her out and tried to go back to bed - big mistake - she howled louder and louder! Then i realised she had got use to being fed at 6a.m. so i got up again and fed her, le…

I've spent the last 3 days building this to keep Juno and Suki out of trouble for the 5 hours a day during the week no one is home. This is connected to the garage where there is a small room filled with straw where they can get out of the wind. It's not finished yet but the pups are too young to be left out there yet anyway. Where do you keep yours?

Hey peeps… wanna see if anyone else has had same prob… since having Nikita she has never been a fast eater unlike Tikaani .. have found she is a scrap dog.. would rather have plate of leftovers than anything else.. but I’m not into giving things like that.. Also she seems to be a self regulating dog and will always leave a little bit in the bowl without fail.. no matter how much I give her she will only eat the same amount. Very picky as well. unlike Tikaani who will keep eating given the chance… Anyway my prob is that Nikita will some times just decide not to eat, put her bowl down and she will look at it then just lay down. Ve…

Hmmmmm for a few days now, I have noticed some of my stones mysteriously disapearing from my fire place. I thought Kaiser had moved them but haven't been able to find them anywhere......until tonight!! Standing at my kitchen window making tea, I suddenly saw them - on top on the Kennel!!!!! Kimbas has been putting different items on top of his kennel for about 2 weeks now - his latest one being a garden mole i had in my shrubs. Pics below are of my fireplace at the moment minus the stones, and the top of his kennel where they turned up. Anyone got any ideas as to why he is doing this??? Does your sibe do something similar?…

Just started to introduce my boys to the BARF diet but I have a few questions to ask: 1) Is Natural yoghurt good for them as I read somehwere a while ago that this is good for their tract as an alternative to eggs 2) My boys have previously been fed lamb but it says to avoid this for a while but as they have had it before can I still feed them it or should I avoid it?

As most of you know, my boy is 14 years. Here's the background for my question: Within the past three months, he's been started on Previcox for his arthritis. I give him 1/2 dosage in the a.m. and 1/2 in the p.m. He also gets glucosamine. He gets VERY SHORT walks - approx. 1/3 to 1/2 mile. Any longer and we have to stop for him to rest as he gets very tired and begins stumbling. Recently he's become very vocal during the evening. This is usually after his food has been offered and while we're watching the television. He knows I am there (in the next room - open floorplan)... This is a typical Siberian "woooo" crossed with a bark. (A totally new soun…

All 3 of my boys have their own qualities which make me love them so much! 1) Gizmo, Hes always there when I need a shoulder to cry on 2) Marley, A big softie and acts just like a teddy bear and always love cuddles 3) Bandit, He's just a big bundle of fun, full of energy loves to play

i got another sibe 2 weeks ago to keep my boy Raiden company while im away at work. well they did have a few serious fights the first few days but that was over pretty quick and Raiden gave up his dominant position to Geneva. now that they are good friends they like to play fight and at first it seems funny but it gets pretty violent and they bite and nip at eachother, but it seems to be all in good fun. could they hurt eachother doing this? because sometimes they get really into it and im afraid one of them might hurt the other one.

Lex loves his kong to bits he is always wanting me to fill it up (obviously he doesn't get it filled all the time) at meal times i usually stick half of his food in the kong and half in his bowl but i have just seen this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kong-Stuff-N-Dog-Chew-Toy-Paste-Fresh-Breath-Flavour_W0QQitemZ180324881730QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Pet_Supplies_Dogs?hash=item180324881730&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1686|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318 and wondered if it does actually work! with the amount of stuff he chews his breath often stinks and he hates having his teeth brushed so i wondered if this stuff actually works or is it a con to get you to buy it!

When I was walking Marley yesterday I got talking to a lady who was walking her dogs. I was saying how I was trying to get my boys on the rig or scooter as a form of exercise for them. She was saying that she has an attchment for her bicycle which she can attch the lead to and she uses that to take them on her bicycle. She doesn't know what it was called or where to get one from as she was given it by an old friend. Does anyone here know what they are called or where I may get one from?

My wife and I just had our first child. He's going on 4 months. We will never 100% trust our sibe, Ripley, around him, but we're also not fearful that she'd do anything to him. Any thoughts from the group on things to expect? Ripley has been the self-proclaimed center of the Universe for the past 5 years. She's slowly adapting to her new role in the family.

Husband and i are talking about when we get the puppy...and as it grows up. We are going to crate train her, and the days when we're at work she will be in the crate, hubby will come back at lunch to take her out then we will both be back about 5.00ish...he is thinking we should let her roam the house when we're sleeping, but i think she should be in her crate to keep her and our house safe. What do you guys do?
