I found this article to be an interesting read. I am also happy to see that the Siberian Husky did not make it into this article; however I do not know whether our breed has changed from that of the earliest Huskies, either. I really do wish there was something that could be done for breeds that are riddled with health issues, like the English Bulldog. https://dogbehaviorscience.wordpress.com/2012/09/29/100-years-of-breed-improvement/

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/dna-test-could-soon-trap-4900227 I wonder if it would work? In order for it to be effective you'd have to have samples of the individual dogs to test it against. The article says vets would take dna samples at the same time as microchipping pets but I suspect they could only do this with consent. The people who are guilty of allowing their pets to poo on the streets are not likely to give their permission for that I would think?

Pretty sure you've all heard of this. Here's latest update: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-30630330 Somebody my brother knew was in that plane with his whole family my whole high school is in a panic right now. Apparently we also have an alumnus aboard. Our rival high school, whose inside news we somehow keep in touch with as well, has two of their students aboard. Dark, dark days so close to the new year too. People are starting to say Indonesia is the new Bermuda triangle. I hope that's not true because if so how the **** am I supposed to go home?? Aw gee this is a terrible year

View the film The Trial starring Anthony Hopkins to grasp the weirdness of the world turned true. Last week heard on radio a Judge release a man from prison in a bizzare Kafkaesque situation. It seems this guy went to work and going to his car was arrested by the police and put in prison. The facts before the judge came out. It turned out the guy had got into a altercation with a neighbour who took him to court and the magistrates gave out a ASBO forbidding the guy from going in the street. ( A ASBO is a anti social behaviour order). Problem was no one informed the guy to let him defend himself in court or the result of the court ca…

A few months back, Manchester Dog's Home had an horrific fire where over 100 dogs sadly lost their lives. The kennels are being rebuilt and the dogs were moved to other locations but some of them had a bit of a treat at Chill Factore in Manchester http://www.itv.com/news/granada/update/2014-12-15/dogs-from-fire-ravaged-home-visit-santa-paws/

Think this is probably a good enough reason not to do the housework! Thankfully the person survived but I bet it was a whacking great shock to the system. http://metro.co.uk/2014/11/25/woman-swallowed-by-sinkhole-while-hanging-out-her-washing-4962240/

This one isn't exactly "new", but they did say it's the first ever video of it. I'm starting to seriously consider moving out to Mars if scientists keep pulling out monsters out of Earth's corners http://www.foxnews.com/science/2014/11/22/monterey-researchers-take-first-ever-video-mysterious-black-seadevil/

I feel quite bummed I have not been able to follow this for as much as I wanted too! Been following the news from ESA for some time about Rosette flying to Comet 67P/C-G and the lander Philae actually landing on it. Never in our history has something like this been done before so it's quite a huge milestone that today, exactly this happened! I'm a bit surprised actually not too many people know about this. This is a mission that started 10 years ago. Rosette has been flying through space for a full 10 years before arriving to this comet. Nobody knew for sure if this would've worked, especially as there wasn't even a lot know about the comet. They had to plan their route o…
