A really good article about the topic from the Sibes and Sled Dogs website: Why Can’t Siberian Huskies Safely Go Off-Lead? This is one of the constant questions raised about Siberian Huskies. You would think it would be enough that: every responsible Siberian Husky owner will tell you that it is not safe to let a Siberian Husky off lead in an unenclosed area, every ethical Siberian Husky Breeder will tell you that it is not safe to let a Siberian Husky off lead in an unenclosed area, every single Siberian Husky rescue organisation IN THE WORLD will tell you that it is not safe to let a Siberian Husky off lead in an unenclosed area; and that every single Siberian Husky …

A random topic but it popped into my head today , I thought it could be interesting Any one who's on my Facebook knows I'm pretty obsessed when it comes to books , I absolutely love to read and the online (mostly indi) book community is huge they have book signings all over the world which one day I do plan on getting to at least one, so whilst my hobby is reading I also collect books signed by the authors and sometimes by the cover models , I currently have 74 signed books but am also waiting for around 10 to actually arrive to add to my collection, some I buy, others (most) I win I've only been collecting for around 2 years now and have only met one of my fav…

Hello , I am thinking of buying a Siberian Husky (AN INCREDIBLE DOG) and need to find out information from actual Husky owners . ( not cross bread , pure husky ) I need to know how much I have to walk them. I have 15 minutes in the morning and about 1-2 hours in the after noon. Is this enough? plus I have decades at the weekend. I was also think of taking him to my local park for walks with my family. I have a Medium/ Large garden good for running about and catching and throwing balls (football too) Is this a good environment for a Husky and Can I get the exercise he needs in the time I have? Thanks for Your Help

Talk about Pokemon here. Anything related to pokemon. Discuss your favourite types, individual pokemon, or compare your teams to each other. If you have one of the newer DS games, you can post your 'Friend code' (I believe for Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver.) so you can battle/trade each other.

Hi everyone, Due to an increased number of people asking for signatures (from myself, @Andy, or others), I decided to make a thread devoted to requesting signatures...so we can keep track of any requests. ( Staff , can we please make this a sticky?) What You Need When You Request A Signature: - Pictures and your dog(s) names corresponding to it. - Any personal preferences (colour scheme, border, etc) - If you have more than 4 huskies/animals you want on your signature, then you will be getting an animated signature (gif). This is because I don't like to crowd my banners - other people like Andy or Sparks may not be of the same opinion and m…

Ok so i'm someone who loves reading and likes quotes, sayings etc that really mean something. Some of you may know I have been trying to decide on a first tatto (something small to start with!) and have found the following saying about horses that i like; 'Give a horse your heart they will give you their soul in return' It got me thinking about something husky related and i couldn't find much online, So i want to hear your ideas/quotes/sayings/words used to describe our gorgeous huskies....

Just a few questions to understand what type of personality your husky has. I am always enamored by the different personalities that huskies can have and would like to compare your husky's personality with Smokey's. Unfortunately I can't meet all of them so show me yours! 1. When your husky disobeys you, how does he do it? i.e. talks back, runs away, turns a deaf ear, won't look you in the eye etc. 2. What commands/tricks does your husky understand? 3. Where is your husky's favorite place to be scratched? 4. Does your husky always pull the leash/lead? (when you walk, run, bike etc.) 5. Does your husky play fetch and b…

Hello everyone, Excuse me if this is posted in the wrong forum. Last Tuesday I got my beautiful Siberian Husky (purebred) named Saiya - she is wonderful! However, being the curious person I am, I was just dying to know what she's going to look like as an adult. I have searched and searched to find photos of wooly agouti huskies and have had no luck. I am wondering, is an agouti husky with a wooly coat odd or rare at all? Have you ever seen one or do you own one? I would love to see! Thank you! *Request for more pictures (these are the only ones I have offhand - disregard her scruffiness and the poor quality!)

So, following on from my announcement came up with a great idea to have a thread where anyone wanting to loose a bit of weight, or even gain it as I know that's hard for some people too, maybe you want to get more active but haven't the motivation, can come and discuss their challenges, share opinions, success stories etc My goal is to loose weight within 12 months, but to do it sensibly by changing my eating habits and to exercise more. I'm calorie counting using an ap called my fitness pal, and also using an ap called runkeeper to log walks that i go on so i can see how far i've walked, how long it took me, and how many calories i've burnt. I've walked the dog…

This topic is specifically for one person and one person alone. Allegedly this person has decided to con someone who is very good friend of mine. They decided to buy a husky from someone who in good faith did the wrong thing by signing over everything, for no other reason than being the kind person that they are as they considered the person in question to be a friend. However unknown to them the money was never to be seen, and has now been told that the money will never be given. It has also been stated that the husky has now been sold on. I see people conned every day. Do not ever con my friends!!!! EDIT: Named as Colin worthington by on…

My roomate used to breed dogs and her purebred GSD and Dobies all had a dark spot on their tongues. Well she looked at Kiana's tongue and said she wasn't purebred because she has a pink tongue. I was like um well as far as I know huskies have pink tongues lol. So I looked it up online and only found pink tongues, spots only occuring with mixes. Soooooo what color is YOUR husky's tongue? ? ? As a side note my Corgi mix's tongue it pink LOL

So while looking at Suka's eyes today, I noticed a rather noticeable lump on his left eyelid. A few days before, there was some mucus-like discharge but that went away within a few days. A quick google search brought up eyelid tumors. That scares the crap out of me!!! Here are some pictures I took... I'm REALLY scared! We don't have the money for surgery for him either! I don't want to lose my baby!
