  4. I have a bag too - I had to counsel a student on campus for at most 20 minutes and it ended up turning into an hour... Lesson learned!! I would be super annoyed at people doing that- Ugh! Doesn't matter what they think, though, your baby is adorable. [emoji173]️ Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
  5. I've tried clicker training for potty and it works very well- there are also pheromone sprays made for pups - these sprays can be sprayed on the wee wee pad . It gives an attractive scent for the pup to do its business there.... praising the pup when they do it right is important, followed by a favorite treat. Apple gate farm turkey slices are wonderful. I believe that's the name. Best wishes!! My pup is also 8 1/2 weeks old and she is doing swell with clicker potty training. She misses occasionally , but I'd say she is getting it right about 90% of the time lol. I'm psyched about it. If they hit the rug, there's an oxy clean turbo spray thingy made for puppy accidents- it absorbs into the carpet immediately and I just wipe it down. 6. So true about people being experts. There was a very well meaning woman who looked at me as if I was the worst person in the world when I didn't have water for Sophie and she was whining. My boyfriend locked my car keys in the car, and I had water supply in there which I was hoping to give her after taking a trip to campus... turns out the lady gets a cup and fills it up- then, gives me a dirty look, lol. I've had a few people double check with me that she is a husky, as if it were my obligation to make sure she was pure bred or something - it was cute but I did have to look at her face and wonder why they didn't think she was pure. Lol. Happened a few times actually. Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app

  10. Hi all! I am new as well- Sophie the Siberian came home on April 2. She is 2 1/2 months old. So far, she has not eaten a lot of the Health Extension dog feed she was fed- she will eat all of the supplement wet food, and some pieces of the dry food. I've been clicker training her, so she has been getting her protein from some 'yummy' treats- but I have been worried about her getting the nutrients she needs. I also don't want to get into a huge habit of spending a lot of money on her food, but I think that it is unavoidable right now... she likes eating blueberries and bananas thus far.. but I'm trying not to get her into the habit of table scraps, just I search for reward food because My boyfriend and I have clicker trained her to go potty on the wee wee pads and it has worked wonders. Praise does the trick, clicking the clicker after she does her thing, and giving her a tasty treat. She will prefer treats over other rewards I've noticed and feels cheated when she doesn't get one. I'm trying to associate the clicker noise with positive reinforcement behavior as opposed to food, just she has a lot of energy and it's tiresome to keep clicker in at all times. But, it is well worth the progress at her age. There is also a pheromone spray you can spray on the wee wee pad so that when it's time to take her out you can spray it outdoors. I can't take Sophie on grass yet, so I hope this works out. I will post a photo of the foood I am giving her now, maybe she thinks the consistency is more treat like so she eats it, albeit , out of my hand. It's called Vital by Freshpet. I just put her on it now..Not sure if she is just a finicky eater. Otherwise, I love her so much and she made me cry laughing yesterday because she peed on three pads in the house a little at a time and then ran to the fridge. It was totally hilarious my boyfriend and I were running around praising her and she's like "I want more treats." Sent from my iPhone using Husky Owners mobile app
